Wow Jim, that’s great man! How many of each parameter can you display on a single page?

This system is only designed to interface with PowerFC, or can it be adapted to other ECU’s?

Some suggestions for parameters may be:

- Oil temperature
- Injector duty cycle (for Aux Injection)
- AFR
- EGT

Some or all of these may not be possible with the PFC, but would be on certain others like Haltech Elite and AEM Infinity, which both use CAN BUS, if I’m not mistaken.

I would also recommend having a few preset page layouts or give the user the option to customize a page to their liking. One page layout could be labeled “MAX”, for example and would simply display as many parameters as possible, or all. Naturally this would make the text on screen quite small but for some, this may foot the bill.

Additionally, you can create pages which lend prime real estate to a particularly important parameter, where that individual parameter is given a large readout with several others represented on the same page, but in smaller fonts. For example, one could have the AFR parameter in large and bold font at the top center, with boost, coolant temp and oil temp below. Conversely, one could give boost the priority and put the other three beneath that.

Lastly, I’d recommend a peak/hold feature where the maximum value for a given parameter can be held in memory temporarily (3-5 seconds) to aid in tuning and just general understanding of what’s happening with the car. For example, if you’re shifting up from 2nd to 3rd full throttle, you cannot possibly watch your tach and your boost pressure to find out if you’re over boosting in that gear. If the boost parameter is able to display it’s highest value and hold that value on screen for a few moments, it allows the user to focus on shifting at the right moment and then glance over after to see what the highest boost pressure was for that full throttle pull.

Hope this helps!

Nick
