is that a mongtego blue paint that you sprayed your dash with??
I prepped the plastics and they were professionally sprayed and clear coated. |
i had some really bad areas at the top of the piece. Looks like the original plastic bubbled. i sanded it and am filling the holes. I just want to be sure that is cures long enough before i put on the final coat. Other than that its ready to be finished. I'll post pics when its done.

$15 and some spare time
i'm really happy with how it turned out. I'm going to repeat on the gauge hood and the center console as well. I'll prob end up doing the doors when i get the passenger side trim piece and a drivers side door panel...haha

hey ryan, what kind of paint did you use? That looks exactly like how I want mine to turn out.

to fill in the scratches and other imperfections i started with Duplicolor black primer.
then for the final coats i used some hobby spray paint from Michael's its called Testors. I used the 1249 Flat Black...I'm pretty sure it was the only flat black there. it was like $4 for one of those tiny spray cans but the finished product looks great. The sand paper i used was 320 and 400 grit. I didn't feel the need to go with anything finer. |
