FD: BN kit or slammed stock body... need help
4 Attachment(s)
Alright,, im having an issue what to do now..
I originally planned, to run stock body with awesome fit ment wheels, Slammed, basically stock body over all( front lip, side steps, and rear diffuser..). but im starting to like the BN (defend kit) a lot more and more.. if i do go bn, i plan on keeping stock fenders(with an aggressive roll/pull) (No Wide body for me) Current set up: 93 bumper, 99 spec lip, JDM fenders(have to pick them up), roof/hatch spoiler(have to pick it up), feed side steps, rear mud flaps, Apexi GT-Spec exhaust. Wheels i plan on getting: SSR MS1's 18x10 +15 18x11+12 now idk what to what to do.... haha my other option is to buy another fd. so that way i get to run both styles heres some pics of both stock body(mostly) and bn and similar kits.. Stock/ slammed- Attachment 721518 http://motormavens.com/emAlbum/album...oni_fd3s_1.jpg http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...a/IMG_1920.jpg Attachment 721519 Attachment 721520 Kitted/bn style kits- http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagam...en/green13.jpg http://bnsports.us/blog1/wp-content/...t1-300x174.jpg http://bnsports.us/blog1/wp-content/...RX7FDrear1.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...es/fd3skit.jpg Attachment 721521 I leave my fate in your hands |

Stock 99 Spec. And boo for slamming that shit. Make it drivable. Last I checked in Japan, nobody is into that stuff anymore. The economy is bad and everyone was driving fuel-efficient cars. Start modding your hybrids, that's the next big JDM thing!

i wouldnt mind interchaning between oem front/rear bumper and bn kit.. I do plan on drifting and road racing the fd. its tough lol |
Im probably doing a bn sports defend kit with oem pulled front fenders and greddy rears. I dont like the blister kit all that much. I also dont really like any of the FD front widebody fenders. I come from a burnt out 240 scene where every car almost looks the same. Im starting to find the same in the rx7 comminunity, but weaker. Its either FEED, RE, or burn out and the are all way over priced. Even the replicas kits from vendors on this site are over priced.

i feel the same way.. those are the same reasons for doing this.. im glad to see some one else i can see eye to eye with.. every one chooses the same kits over and over, all to common.. thats why i left the 240 scene back in 07.. yea, the blister is tooo much, but the defend kit looks great. im plan on just flaring the shit out of the fenders and pulling off some 18x11's in the rear. |
I have a very different style than most on this site.
my current s13 that for sale to fund the FD. BN sports replica from chaser auto. Super cheap and the best part is that they exploded on impact....lol http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3485/...243fc542_b.jpg |
Bn non blistered.
|
Kit = Fail.

https://farm3.static.flickr.com/2597...d40596cd_o.jpg don't expect to get many positive opinions about this sort of thing here, the majority of the people one rx7club still act like an FD is a some super special rare exotic car |
I like the stock look more but i think the BN kit won't look that bad if you use stock fenders.
It sounds like you want to have something different and the BN kit suits that well(not a lot of people have a BN kit). |
I really hate that stretched tire shit, looks soo stupid. Buy tires that fit for christs sake..

see? it has nothing to do with the original question either, but it's still relevant |
Well about 90% of the cars on the post your FD thread are lame. Im sure when my car is done it will get a lot of flack. Do i care ? not really. Stock body fd's look good when the owner adds the right stance and wheel fitment.
|
just make it look good, a few nice fds you posted. cool trick to upsize rubber on some of the cars to get the tuck
|
I think the URAS front lip spoiler would compliment the slammed look with the 99 sides/Feed undersides/RE-A pro diffuser with side generators......

any one else got pics of fds with BN kits... (not the blister kit)
|
if your goin for the drifter look, go with the kit. the slammed on stock body look would put you in the "poor drifter" look category. that would be hypocritical lol

good point.. one reason i would want the kit is, i dnt wanna smash my oem bumper and fuck up my lip and frp skits and shit.. rather much destroy a bn kit lol |
Pop, stock it, drop it.
chicka chicka Yeah, serious note though...Rolled fenders on stock body with '99 conversion, tucked 18's or 19's....yeah, full of win. I'm saving up to have my Burnout fenders painted/installed on my FD, then I'm planning on running some 19's and dropping the bisch to the floor. :P |
unless your scrapping the pinch welds you ain't low enough
|
|
were could i buy this kit... i cant find it...
me searching=fail hahaha http://bnsports.us/blog1/wp-content/...X7FDfront1.jpg |
not sure... but the fitment looks great......... ::leaving::
|
reason fitment isnt superb, is because most of the time bumpers are ziptied, theres not point in bolting on the bumper well because most likley your going to smash it ... |
Mazda lines are the best! whether it's Mazdaspeed/JDM/USDM any one of those are the best lines! :)
|
yea, i love the stock body lines... the fd lines are superb
|
|
^thanks Mo
|
so its decided
im going with the BN kit( no wide body) Rolled and pulled fenders all the way
Alpine White.:icon_tup: also getting tein Flex coilovers. and SSR MS1's 18x10 +19 front 18x11 + 19 or +16 http://bnsports.us/blog1/wp-content/...X7FDfront1.jpg |
