Bose Wiring Diagram

Yep This is IT! A WHOPING 700k. Everything and anything you ever needed to know about the system's wires. Remember to hook it up to the amp relay to ignition power and not constant power. If you hook it up to constant power, the amps will stay on ALL the time and KILL your battery.

Here are your color codes.
L = Blue
B = Black
BR = Brown
DL = Dark Blue
DG = Dark Green
G = Green
GY = Gray
LB = Light Blue
LG = Light Green
N = Natural
O = Orange
P = Pink
R = Red
PU = Purple
T = Tan
W = White
Y = Yellow
V = Violet

Thanks FlyBye, that tells me everything I could ever need to know!

Smilez 05-26-02 07:03 PM

This is very helpful, thanks for posting it.

I'm replacing the stock harness with one for a radio out of my other car. (BTW, I'm also replacing the speakers)

Can someone please verify that I'm hooking it up to the right wires?

Specifically:

Mine: Stock:
Batt/Memory 1C
Ignition/Acces 1A
Ground 1J
Power Antenna 1D
Left Front + 1K
Left Front - 1L
Right Front + 1M
Right Front - 1N

@ the Door
Left + G
Left - L
Right + R
Right - W

Thanks!
Jeff

Sup guys. I sell/install car audio at circuit city and the bose system is one of the easiest factory amplified systems to bypass. If you nedd any help drop me a note. Also kind of ironic that it was putting a sterio in one a year ago that made me want one. i have an r1 so no bose for me!

Blackbeast 07-14-02 05:34 AM

Maybe you can help me redhat, I bought some 5.25 'supposedly' stock replacement speakers Infinity reference series, and to my dismay they do not fit the stock front bose speaker panels.

What's the way to go around that? and can I take off the bose amplifier completely since I will be routing the wire directly from the headunit through the door to the speakers.

If there is an easier way to install new speakers using the existing bose stereo wires, then let me know!

Also what is the easiest way to route power wires from the battery into the interior? I only see the fenderwell route, and that's about it.

Tx.

Timmy

Timmy, If you are going to completly replace the speakers in the doors to high output speakers, then you are better off yanking the stock wiring out and replacing it with some good high power cableing between the aftermarket speakers in the door over to the amps whereever you decide to install them. Rember that the Bose amps in the doors receive a low level input from the headunit.

A power cable..well...I've used the boot on the steering column for a few wires, so you may want to start there. If you don't want to punch a hole through it, then I'd simply drill a hole somewhere on the firewall and use a rubber grommet to push the cable through.

Wade Lanham did a big write-up on the Bose system and other stereos. See my site and go to Upgrades --> Body & Interior --> Stereo.

For additional Bose and stereo info, see my site, and go to: How-to --> Electrical --> Stereo.

Cheers,

Steve

This is cool! Where did ya get it? Great stuff food for thought indeed. Thanks for posting.

Flybye 08-30-02 04:48 PM

It's directly out of the factory Shop manual :)

those codes dont tell you anything but abreviation. now what do they mean, for example which one goes to the dimmer or which one goes to the front right speaker thats what i need to know

dkny_boi 10-08-02 08:16 PM

Was just wondering if it wouldn't be too much trouble to repost the diagram pic? It's not working anymore...

You see where it says DOOR SPEAKER AMP MODULE RH? That's your right door speaker amp module...

The dimmer wire is not on this page. If you need it, I'll hunt through the wiring harness book for you.

Thanks!:)

It's right on the chart man. For example, look at the left speaker. You see the positive and negative wire for the audio? The positive is G (Green) and the negative is L (Blue)

Yeah, I also got the stock wiring harness, but I don't have a scanner anymore. Let me know what color wires you want out of that, and I'll post them up here.

TTurboXfd3s 03-05-03 10:55 PM

DAMN THAT'S A HUGE DIAGRAM!!!

rousu 03-20-03 09:27 PM

cant print the diagram;
too many bits,
and cant carry the desktop out to the car.
Could this be reformated into compressed jpeg or something to simplify life.?

just a thought. thanks

Flybye 03-30-03 02:00 PM

When you are going to try to print it, just look for an option that says "Fit to Page"

This option will compress the image so that it fits on a letter size paper. This images needs to be of high definition because if it were of lesser quality, it would look like ass when you try to compress it to letter size.

ok those diagrams confuse me so much! i hooked up a new deck to replace the old aftermarket one that was already in there when i bought the car, and i just switched the wires he had on the harness for the ones on the new deck harness and it works fine. Flybye mentioned to hook it up to the amp relay to ignition power and not the constant power.

can anyone tell me which color wire the amp relay is? or, ive had this deck in for a few days, and im sure the old deck has been in for at least 2 months, if it was hooked up to the wrong wire, would my battery already be toast? thanks!

eschumac 08-26-03 01:22 AM

As a suggestion if you covert the image to gif and reduce the colors to 1bit the image will be around 150k. This should save a bit of server bandwidth etc. Jpeg is better for continuous tone type graphics.

Thanks for posting the image. Helps a lot.

enfinichris 07-06-04 04:19 PM

can any body help me i need a fc aftermarket radio wireing diagram

Buddyclub 07-13-04 11:08 PM
