3rd gen: best 4-WAY speakers
whas tha best 4-WAY speakers or speakers to get for a 3rd gen ??? i have a head unit that outputs 50wx4? so whas a good set-up ???
|
A 50wx4 stereo means it outputs to FOUR channels, I.E. front right, front left, rear right, rear left, not to a four way speaker...
|
indeed .. but whas the best quality speakers i can get for that kinda output ???
|
That's not a special type of output, that's what ANY head-unit that controls two front and two rear speakers is going to have. Its actually less then stock, as the stock headunit has the center speaker channel and the sub if you've got the Bose system.

Just go to a couple of stores and listen to speakers in your price range. Use the search function. |
What's the signal level going to the center channel !?
Could you use a 4 channel amp and split off the L&R fronts to combine that signal for the center !? Reducing your effective wattage a bit of course, but the center amp shouldn't draw too much... Or you could split the line level going to the amp, and .... ah nevermind, I'm putting a gauge pod in there anyhow :D Fuel Pressure, Oil Temp, And EGT maybe :D |

i prefer the bose 2 channel speaker that gives out 150 watt plus 4 custom boombox on the rear. that's what i'll do on my RX-7

In My Opinion
Pioneer 4 way 6x9's. Great power handling and reasonably priced $320/4. Raj But, like Ryan said....go listen to some and make a decision. |
Forgot to add....IMO.

Crutchfield lists 5 1/4 for the fronts and 6X8s for the rears.

They are a direct drop-in installation w/ no modification needed to fit. *Note: (I have a non-BOSE car.) 5x7, 6x8, and 6x9 all will fit, however, proper fitment will depend on the magnet size. Check speaker mounting depth before purchase. |
i got tha bose stock system .. so wha are tha sizes for tha front and rear speakers??
|
Rears will be the same. Up front, you can go 5.25", however, you'll have to modify the BOSE enclosure to fit the speaker. This site won't let me link the image, but look at the very last pic on the bottom to see what I mean.
http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereor...zRX7FDrPnl.htm Otherwise, yank the whole BOSE system out and you can put in 6.5"s. |
Yank the bose system, the amps are designed to handle the 1 ohm Bose drivers. They don't have the oomph to drive the typical 4-ohm driver.

so whas tha best 4 WAY speakers to purchase for quality ?!?

Is there even such thing as a 4-way speaker? It's hard for me to imagine that such a beast would be any better than a good 2- or 3-way anyway, but I've never even heard of a 4-way speaker. I have to think that it would be pretty deep anyway...
