Shown post count wrong?

I have over 200 posts but my avatar has been showing 134 posts for the past 3 months.... what gives?

Sgt Fox Feb 18, 2009 01:10 AM

Its 135 now. I think you are mistaken.

And for some stupid reason its working now???? oh well... not like it changes my life really.

Maybe lounge posts dont count? :dunno:

Sgt Fox Feb 18, 2009 11:30 AM

I don't believe lounge points do count.

Icemark Feb 18, 2009 04:22 PM

some sections (such as the lounge and most of its breathern) do not count towards your post count.

"I see..." said the blind man.
Thanks.

drewkeen Feb 19, 2009 09:03 PM

I wonder why it is like that?

ViperBart Feb 19, 2009 11:35 PM

^ Because they are irrelevant to the forum's main topic (RX7's) and post count is there to show your contributions to the forum.

Mods correct me if I'm wrong.

That is correct.

Also there are some sections (such as the lounge) that may get a single member posting 50 posts a day, and none of them have anything to do with anything.

Since many people (wrongly) associate a large post count with either a large E Penis or someone that actually has contributed to the forum, it makes no sense to reward them for just making a bunch of useless posts in a non technical section.

Sometimes people delete threads so your posts go with that.

We actually need to review this and change the regional sections to NOT count towards it. We have members with 6K+ posts and all they do is spam in the regional sections. Mainly the damned SoCal tards. ;)

So if i don't have a rotary yet, and want to ask people questions through pm but it requires me to have a post count of 3 or higher but i feel like there's nothing i can contribute toe the "technical" or "new members" forums how am i suppose to up my post count w/o posting useless crap so i can ask people questions on PM or inquire about parts and tuning and such?

tkisner May 18, 2009 06:51 PM

Not all sections count.

lwrider59 May 27, 2009 03:35 PM

I think not all posts will count because they have to be approved. That would be my best guess. Hope everything works out for ya!
