As of now you will need 10 posts and 24 hours of membership to access the classifieds section. We are working on removing it and revamping sections of the forum. Just post around in the new member section and you'll get there quickly.

How long has the 10 post rule been in effect? It's a good idea against scam/spam but I agree with some that it is annoying haha
Its been in place for quite a few years now. I don't know exactly for how long but it has been hated for a long time as well. It does a decent job guarding against spam but we don't see a ton of it here much anymore. It limits the spam to the new member section which is easy to catch quickly. I'll be honest though, I've only had one spammer in the last 6 or 8 months that I've had to remove from the forum. People will also catch threads they perceive as spam and report them and we will review them and take action if necessary. We decided on removing the posting restrictions and revamping some of the sections to condense things and make the forum easier to navigate. It just takes time to rework things on the IB and admin end of things.
