windows vista and e6k?????

i have a dell inspiron 1501 with windows vista. can i use this to connect and tune my e6k? i have a com port. i read that i need a dos program to run e6k, so can i download one or is vista not going to work? thanks

well, i tried on another labtop thats an ibm with windows xp. i downloaded the dosbox v0.65 and d-fend.the haltech program come up and runs, but the haltech is not going online. it only connects offline. i am connected through a keyspan 9 pin to usb adapter. anyone have any ideas?
