What CAN'T the Haltech do?

Are there any functions (namely smog-related) that the OEM ECU performs that the Haltech is incapable of doing? (I have heard that the OMP can sometimes be driven by the haltech -- Is this true for a series 5 motor?)

Thanks!,
Manolis

it is not going to run any of the smog equipment. OMP for late model cars is also not controlled by the Haltech

You can run the airpump with the Haltech if you want to pass the sniffer test (SMOG). If you really want to you can control most of the smog equipment if you so desire. Keep in mind though that there are only four outputs to use, and those are mainly used by the radiator fans, sequential turbo control, a/c and something else if you desire.

Tims is right, it will not control your MOP.

People have talked about putting a series 4 (86-88) mechanical OMP on a series 5 or FD engine when going to a ECU that does not control it.
So far I do not know of anyone who has completed this mod.
