set up or manual transmission?

I have been playing around in NSP trying to get inputs assigned when specific gears are activated. I have a t2 transmission. Now, I do have a 5th gear switch and a neutral switch. It looks like I might be able to add a switch for first gear detection by adding a bung and a plunger switch to the tailhousing just above the reverse/fifth switch. My intent is to have lower boost in first , and fifth also being lower boost, perhaps mapped a bit more for cruising economy.

Back to the NSP...

I have Manual selected, "Gear Switch" and "one input per position" Under Selector position I have " Overdrive and 1st" selected

Gear and Selector wiring is whats odd. I have an input that is " Gear Switch Input" which I'm missing what that is or what is for. I have Overdrive and 1st, but NSP says I can set it for "input" instead of "conditional and/or input" but selecting input only gives an error that reads "channel"

any thought on how to set up a manual transmission for individual gear inputs?

Thank you

I thought that only worked for drag racing. Where gear shifts are sequential. Would this work on the street? I’d assume a speed sensor would be needed?

it is used for anything with a manual trans, it is speed vs RPM, literally drive alone in 1st and press calibrate, then 2nd and press calibrate etc.
