problems with TPS on Haltech E11v2

Hi,

I just finished wiring up the E11v2 on my FD (1995), but can't get the (standard FD) TPS calibrated correctly. I had a Microtech LT8 before that and there were no problems with the TPS. I've tried calibrating it like it says in the manual several times but to no avial. Its sensitivity to throttle movement is way too much. When I press down the throttle approx. 1/2 way, the reading on my Laptop goes to 90%. It hits 100% with another small (downward) throttle movement. If I press down gently on the throttle I get approx. 25-30%; but I expected 5-10% (judging from what I used to get on the LT8).

Is there another way to calibrate the TPS, by entering data values into a table, for instance? I don't want to install the Haltech TPS because it would be a pain in the *** to install, as there's hardly any room between the car's bulkhead and the TPS.

Has anybody had this problem before? Is it similar on the E6X?

Adrian

Can you explain to us how the TPS was wired?
Which pins were used?

tps wiring

Ted,

I see your point. I looked again at the Mazda wiring diagram (from iluvmyrx7 website), and I realised that there are 2 potentiometers, one wide range, one narrow range. As long as I can find out where the all the TPS wires go, I reckon I can get it right this time!

Thanks,

Adrian
