ignition set-up questions

i'm running a 94 Rx-7 with a E6K and...
i have a question about ignition set-up. i tried setting up my ignition set-up page based on a friends set-up. i set ignition type as distrtibutor, and connected the 3 white msd signal wires to pins B D and F. this got the car running ok. before i tried to do any tuning, i decided to re-do the set-up based on the haltech instructions and an e-mail from a haltech tech.

the new set-up( as for haltech instructions) i tried was; ignition type-direct fire, and the three white msd signal wires going to pins C D and E. this also got the car running, but very roughly. i had to switch the trailing wires arround because the haltech instructions apparently directed me to connect them backwards. after switching the wires, the car still ran rough.

with this set-up, the manual calls for 67degrees trigger angle, but when i try to get closer to 67 (50 to be exact), the timing on the motor starts getting really advanced. i'm convinced that the manual is wrong concerning the ignition set-up for a rotary.

can someone please tell me what the inputs should be on my ignition set-up page, and if possible, could you send me a screen shot of a properly set-up ignition set-up page and main set-up page?

thanx
Roan

Roan.
On an FD you should not have the ignition set to Rotary-distributor mode.... This is (for lact of a better word) careless.....
I have not done an FD setup before but it should be close to what Haltech suggests. I do know this much that if you have the stock igniters in the loop you will set it to: rotary, direct fire, constant charge 3.5 -4 ms, falling. If you have the MSDs without the stock igniters it should be set to rotary, direct fire, constant duty, rising. If need being I would love to come by and help you with your setup. I will PM you with my contact numbers.

Thanx Mo..

BTW, I knew that the car shouldn't be set to distributor, i just got fed up with it not running properly on direct fire, so i decided to experiment (shawn's idea not mine)
