Just got this idea, and was wondering if it could give me some sort of knock reference in millivolts? Do you think it could work?

The AEM EMS does it that way:

In the log above this is actually filtered knock sensor voltage. At this point I don't have a log showing raw knock sensor volts on my computer. In the AEM you set a baseline noise curve in volts and the blue line shows the voltage above the noise threshold. The filtered value is only as useful as the accuracy of the noise curve. Then you set a knock ignition retard strategy based on the filtered voltage. You should see how complicated the filtering and knock control systems are on modern stock ECU's.

You could try setting it up in the Haltech as an analog input to at least see raw voltage. Maybe somebody else has tried it?

Does anyone the output voltage range of the stock 3rd gen map sensor. Further, about what voltage should I be looking for during significant knock?
