HELP E6k reconnect issues...

Help please. Haltech wont connect to laptop.
Tried a friends ecu and it worked just fine. Little rich on start up but fired up.
Plug my ecu in and it wont go into online mode.

Any help / tips / advice is much appreciated.

Could the haltech be fried?
Guess on price and time for shipping haltech to be repaired?

Thanx Again.

Steven.....

I had the same issue with my e6x...the communications chip was defective...they replaced it for free...but you have to call them the turn around was the same day the recieved it and shipped it back out the same day....call them to see if yours has the same problem they stated that they knew about the com port problem on the e6x but so many units had shipped already that they just didint recall them ....good luck

go into offline mode and try [ALT S] to get into setup
then press [P ]
this will allow you to alter the default coms port to another,, and may cure the issue

however,, often,, if last program was saved in "advanced mode"
then you can't move from offline to online modes unless you use [ALT S] then [M]
and change from "basic" to "advanced mode " in the system mode at bottom of page

goodluck !

make sure the ignition is on. In other words make sure the key is turned on and all dash lights are on like if you where going to start the car.

haltech will not connect if the ignition is off.
