Have anyone Install they Haltech while...

Have anyone Install they Haltech while keep the the stock ECU in their car to maintain all indication on the guage in the car like tach fuel speed ometer ect ?

If yes how is it done and where did you mount the haltech box Now this is for a 3RD gen RX7

You don't need the stock ECU for any of that.

i have an E6K in my car. everything works and the stock computer hasn't been in the car in 2 years

Ok

I thought you needed the stock ecu to make all those gauges indicate properly, so how does the tach gets its RPM with out the stock ECU installed

Maybe you guys are talking about a Haltech specially made for the 3RD gen, I will be installing a E10 haltech.

None of them are specially made for the FD. You use an output to the stock tach, the rest of the guages are seperate from the ECU.

Don't know what an E10 is, but the F10 is fuel only. You'll need your stock ECU to run the ignition, never mind the guages.

Ok sorry I meant the F10 not E10
So I guess i will keep my stock ecu to run the ignition.

So where you guys mount the haltech ecu

From: Formerly in the Ass end of the pacific.
Your stock ECU will not work for just running the timing (ignition). You will either need a full featured EMS (Engine Management System) or run a distributor.
