So i purchased a Haltech E6X, everyone told me i had to buy an old laptop with DOS or MSDOS OS to get it to work...

Did some digging on the Haltech Forums and voila!!

Turns out the Halwin_V1.26 software install is where the problem lies!!!

Sooooo instead of giving you a new installer or long process I made it easy on everyone else!

I have my own server setup to allow people to download everything you need, Including the Halwin version of the tuning software.

I have personally tested this on X64 Windows 7, Windows 8 (laptop) and x86 Windows XP

If anyone needs help PM me ill be glad to help.

Instructions:

1. Download
2. Follow the Extract Prompts
3. Copy "HalX_v1_26" file to desktop
4. Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64
5. Copy contents of "Need file transfer to SysWOW" in "SysWOW64" folder

Oh yea!! To start the Software go to the "HalX_v1_26" folder and double clik the black computer chip Labled "HalwinX_v1_26" id make a shorcut of that and put it on your pc's desktop.

 

Please explain how anyone outside your network is going to rout to an IP address starting in the subnet of 192.168.0.0.

it should just be a direct download. So when you click it shouldnt take you anywhere you should just start the download...

 

Do you understand what non-routable IP means?

192.168.56.0 is within your local network. No on else can see it. The entire 192.168.0.0 class is non-routable, for internal networks only, with no way to connect to that address over the Internet.

I'd also suggest not distributing it as a self-extracting RAR. Just RAR or ZIP. Downloading EXE files from unknown sources is a bad idea.

 

Ok yea i think i may have fixed it. I had to forward ports on my router. Let me see if i fixed it.

Ok done it works. I made it a self extracting file to help everyone get it without having to download a bunch of random programs.

Im not understanding how its not working, i just used my phones 4g connection to DL the file all i did was copy paste the url in my url bar.

 

I tried off of another persons cell phone and the download worked.

 

I seen that 4 people downloaded the software last night. Can i get some feedback on if it worked for you guys?
