Ha, I was about to chime in with "YES! you can run an e6k with dosbox on windows XP or newer!" but you guys beat me to it. I've even got a sweet script that makes dosbox automatically open the haltech software and set the emulated CPU speed to the highest it can safely run at.

It took me a few days to get my haltech online before I figured out how to do it, but now that I know its easy

It was kinda funny... after playing with it for 3 hours or so, I gave up and thought "ehh... there goes my 275 bucks." Then I was sitting there on the couch wondering if there were SOME kind of settings for the dosbox program... sure enough, in the .conf file, just had to make a change.

I cant wait to start installing! Just need to scrounge up about another 100 bucks for parts!

I'm thinking about this. There's one on CL for 15 bucks, locally, but the guy hasn't answered his phone.

In other news, 600 posts! woohoo!

Don't pass up on this offer lightly. Its extremely kind of him to extend it. And, if you really want to test out your e6k, putting it in another car with a known install is the best way to do it.
