Haltech Installation and wiring

For any wiring I've done in that past where space and aesthetics aren't a problem I've made connections by crimping the wires together and soldering as well to at the very least guarantee the the wires don't shake loose or come apart. From what I've read it seems you all don't advocate soldering at all. Does this weaken the connection somehow? Perhaps I've been taught incorrectly.

I have 2 years of mechanical engineering so I have a basic understanding of all of this and am confident I can figure the installation out given enough time, but any knowledgeable help is always appreciated. My current plan is to remove the stock ecu and harness and retrace those paths with the haltech because I'm not sure how much of the current wiring can go.

Any info on this would be appreciated. I've waded through a lot of searched topics in my years of checking these forums, but I don't think I've ever discovered a very good topic on it.

There's a haltech section on this website.

It has this:

and links to this:

I don't understand where you got the idea that people don't encourage the use of soldering (unless you were reading retarded replies ) soldering is highly recommended especially on critical items such as the computer controlling your engine. The haltech should come with (or you may need to purchase) a connector kit which will have pins and plugs to make the installation easy and removable in the future (so you can unplug sensors etc.)

Haltech is easy as PIE to install.

Ya I have the full kit with plugs. I don't know how I missed the haltech section. Most of my researching was done in the past when I had a lot more time and more often than not I would just shoot a PM to whoever looked like the least retarded person in the read. Worked out well.

Thanks man
