Haltech Group Buy!
Isn't it about time for another Haltech Group Buy? Maybe there is one that I dont know about.
Can anyone out there help myself and others with an arranged group buy? Thanks! Brad Scott |
i might be in deppending on when. how do you pay for stuff over the internet like this? credit card or money order or something?
|
My friend wants one on his rex. so scratch him in for one too. =D
|

|
oh please please please can we do this. I need one BAAAAAAD.
I'm in no matter what, even if it only saves me $1 Can we move this on over to the Group Buy section. Didnt I hear that we have to get Jason's permission for a group buy post? Lets get this thing going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Hey badass, I fell just like you do. I need one BAAAAD, but I'm unfortunately new to the forum. I didn't know about the group buy listings, so maybe I'll let you take it into your own hands? I was just suggesting the idea of having a group buy, and wishing for someone to chime in with help. So far nothign yet :(
|
Okay, I guess I can try and head this one up. We need to get this out in the Group Buy Forum. The traffic in here is close to nil. I'll contact Jason and see if we can post it there, and see maybe if we can purchase from him.
|
Well, I guess Jason is too busy to write "yes" or "no" in an email....trying again....
|
this was done a lil while back on the forum. a member named "thxbrett" got everything together. the units came with 3bar MAP, base maps for FD and FC, harness etc for 1000

I was talking to thxbrett and he told me he could do it Only if there is a definate 5. Last time he had to pay out of his own pocket. Only email me if you have the money and are Serious!
I'll try to setting this thing up. 0piston@home.com |
I've pretty much been waiting on Jason....that guy has to be super busy...it takes him about 5-6 days to reply to anything. I know we have 5...but I've had two distributors tell me if we can get 10 the price will be around $1000....maybe less. And this is with harness and MAP sensor.
I dunno, I want to get this thing going here soon...but we can't post it in the GB section without Jason's approval. And we can't get Jason's approval cause it takes too long to write "Y E S" in an email...........and if its not in the GB section, might be tough to get alot of people.... |
well wherever we go..im in 100% no hoppin out @ last min..i dont care if i save shiping costs, that will be worth it..i have the CC ready and lots of limit watin to be used:D
|
Okay, I emailed every single distributor in the US as listed on Haltech's web site...42 total. So far I have heard back from 6, 2 saying they don't sell retail, and 4 saying they can get me a price on 10 minimum, and it will be tomorrow...
|
Cool and word from Jason yet? He must be very busy. He's never replied to any of my e-mails! :D
|
Okay guys....here's the deal....
Basically, we have to make a choice. I have received alot of response from my email's, and it pretty much boils down to this: The companies where we can get the lowest prices don't offer technical support when it comes to installation/tuning. Those who do offer good tech support, aren't too fond of giving a price break, even if we buy 100 units. Here's a copy of an email from a performance shop in Florida... Brad Yes we do retail sales of Haltech Systems. Haltech requires we adhere to the retail pricing policy's witch we prefer to do to protect the Profitability of dealers who offer competent tech support and to keep resellers who sell below retail only for the money and deeper discounts to could care less if you need tech assistance or not and will send you to haltech direct who are already understaffed to handle tech calls from people who purchased through suppliers that can't Help you. a far as group discounts no we do not unless you are a licensed repair or performance shop and can substantiate that with the appropriate Documentation But what I can do is sell you the 3 Bar map sensors with the systems at a discount price. The E6K with Flying lead harnesses are $1145.00 The termination kit is $75.00 and 1 Bar Map sensors are $110.00. On a ten unit order we would Discount the map sensor to $90.00 and the harness Termination kit to 60.00 and provide tech assistance for install and tuning. I even got a call from Haltech themselves...guess they found out about my emails and expressed their concern. They don't want to sacrifice product support and technical assistance just to offer a good price. So I guess we have a decision. Do we need the companies tech support? I personally think there is enought info and support out there that we don't need it from the company we purchase them from. Anyhow, the best price I have got so far is $930 for the ECU, flying lead connector kit, and 3-bar MAP sensor, the fully terminated harness would be $100 more. Thats $1030 total. |
Also, how many we got so far? Here's who I have for sure....
me vosko glass_dude 0piston bacon also I was talkin to eric cheat-ham and he is definitely down for one do thats 6....I would really like to try and get 10..... |
that price sounds good to me but how many do they have available cause i need it soon
|
I will also take one.
|
I'm in guys, just let me know all the details!
Rx7turbo1 is IN!! |

|
I am in, even though I don't own a rx-7 =)
so 930 is for the ecu, sensors, flying lead and 3 bar map sensor? BadAss: can you email me on this as I don't check this board often. thanx victor@151boost.com |
COUNT ME IN TOO !!!
Count me in too !!
I need one a.s.a.p I am on the big list and I live in Trinidad. Problem is, I am leaving for Brazil in about 5 hours and won't be back until December 10th. If you are getting the units from Jason then there is no problem, he's presently filling out an order for a bunch of other things for me right now. I will also send off an e-mail to Jason telling him about the GB and if he's going to do it, he can count me in too...but if you guys are getting the E6K's from someone else, please count me in and someone please send me an e-mail with an update. My email address is richardh@carib-link.net Send the e-mail to this richardh@carib-link.net because sometimes when my twinturboRX7R1@hotmail.com inbox is full, they delete stuff and I may not get the message while in Brazil ..but the above e-mail address is my ISP in Trinidad. I am not sure if I'll be able to confirm with you guys right away ..well..while I am in Brazil as I do not know if I'll have an internet connection but COUNT ME IN !! These GB usually take at least a month to go through so hopefully I'll be back home and back online to check with you guys on it...that is if I can't get online while in Brazil. Richard richardh@carib-link.net |
After the E6K GB lets >>
I say after this GB on the E6K's lets do one for T-78's and then one for the new GReddy 3-row FMIC's !!!!
or can we lump all 3 of these items into one GB ?!?!?! Any takers ?? Richard |
Whoa, whoa, whoa...now we're talkin.
Looks like we got about 10 now. Well, here's an update. I think I found who we should go with. Rob Golden from Pineapple Racing in Portland, OR. I'm aiming for a little under $1100 for EVERYTHING. Fully terminated harness, 3-bar MAP sensor, and 4-wire O2 sensor...oh, and the ECU :) I'll know for sure tomorrow. Not to mention he offers tech support. As far as those who need it NOW...absolutely nobody I have talked to could ship more than 5 within 10 days. I've got the feeling two weeks is more realistic. And thats AFTER we get them the $$$. But I think we could all sacrifice a couple days for a $400 savings. If you guys don't mind...I would like everyone who is 100% without a doubt will not back out have cash in hand ready to purchase to shoot me an email. bradlymjensen@hotmail.com |
Ignroant Sank
Hey, here's a question for the unknowlegeable such as myself. I hear so much about the PowerFC, can someone compare and contrast the two computers for me?
|
PFC is just plug in and go it is better for stock turbos. Haltech is more designed for people with single turbos and BIG injectors etc... also has to be custom installed not a bolt in.
|
okay guys, I'm 95% sure we will have a rock solid final price by the end of today.......
cross your fingers. |
wooooohoooooo!:blue:
is 1030 the deff price?? thanks for doin all the foot work badass |
it's wierd how Haltech USA <------- like to keep there stuff exclusive
and don't like dealers under cutting each other You know if you was to buy this is AUS it would be $300 cheaper with no GB needed Atkins sells the Microtech MTX-8 for over $1000 I can buy it from dyson or dalton in AUS for $600 |

can someone point out the difference between the terminated and flying lead harness. or perhaps a website or something. i know that the flying lead you basicallly have to build yourself. but does the terminated use your stock engine harness? does it come prebuilt for our cars or what? also will the gb come with a 4 wire o2?

Also, the GB will come with the 4-wire O2. [BEGIN RANT] Okay guys....this delay is pretty much out of my hands now...and I'm pretty fucking pissed off. Any of you ever worked in customer service?? Well, if you have please try and get a job as a Haltech distributor....CAUSE THESE GUYS FUCKING SUCK ASS! Its absolutely riduculous. Its like these guys DONT WANT to sell 10 units, fuck...even one! I've called, I've called again, I've emailed, I've called again, I've emailed again, and guess what....I even tried CALLING them! And it's not just ONE guy. There's like 4 places that I was interested in...they initially said this and that, but after the first email....NOTHING. No contact WHATSOEVER! [/END RANT] But please dudes, don't bail out....we're gonna get this thing and were gonna get it right....if its the last fucking thing I do before I die....it will be making this GB successful.... |

|
hey is there any way that i can get the terminated harness with my order? or do yalkl think that it is not worth the extra money?
|
before you rush out and by great piles of terminated harnesses, talk to the guys who have been running one for a year or more, you'll change your mind and will all be wanting flying looms. the sensors come with the ECU or the flying loom i'm not sure what
i got ECU Flying loom connector kit boost control solenoid 3 bap MAP sensor and somewhere along the line one of thoses contains the sensors |
Hes right, from what I've read the Haltech terminated harnesses are poorly made. People out there have run into problems because of the harnesses falling apart on them. Take it apart inspect all the connections and resolder if need be.
On a side note has anyone out there have any experience with the Haltech Trim knob for Fuel/timing adjustments? Is it handy tuning tool to justify its price?
