okay, i've gotten lots of requests, but have been away from my computer

i need some help diagnosing my haltech issues, mainly i just need someone with a working FD/E6X setup to take some voltage readings in a "key on" environment so I can check some stuff. If you help me, i'll send software

Hey. Is this E6X only, or is it compatible with E6K also?

Any word on this. Will it get the Haltech to work with Windows XP? I'm hoping I don't have to reformat and partition my drive so I can use my laptop for the Haltech instead of my friends.

I sent you an e-mail for a copy...

You don't need to partition your hard drive. Tweakit has files that include DOS so that you can startup off of a floppy.

however most laptops running xp don't have a serial port, and so you need to buy the little usd to serial thingy and since that is the case it will not work in dos, so since that is the case you cannot use it.
if HalwinX would be released you would have alot of people very pleased!

If he's going to re-partition his hard drive for a DOS partition, he must have a serial port for DOS to recognize, right?

The Haltech doesn't need a powerful computer at all. If you don't have a serial port on your laptop, buy an old laptop off ebay. It may be $50.

No I do not have a serial port. I have a serial to usb adapter from Radio Shack. Would I be wasting my time with the new Haltech windows software on my laptop with the usb adapter.
I am also still wondering if the new windows software he has is makes the haltch compatible with XP.
