Haltech haltech e6a ?
haltech e6a ?
I am wiring up a haltech e6a to run my 13b re and have done alot of searching and would like to know how to wire up the ignition I have the ignitors and coil packs that came from haltech and also the ignition inhancer .what wires off the dizzy do I hook ?also I have read that the e6a has problems running a rotory how else could I run the igniton thanks
The first recommendation is that you get an E6X or an E8, since you will benefit from true direct fire or wasted spark ignition, and a whole bunch of cool features the E6A didnt have. There are 2 ways of going abou this.
1. If you are bent on installing the E6A, it does have Rotary mode, BUT, doesnt read off magnetic reluctors, and doesnt have the toggle feature the S and the K had to work the ignition the proper way. But, you can set it to direct fire, and get either the RA8 reluctor adapter or a pair of MSD8509 Magnetic Signal Stabilizers, that way you can read off a 2nd Gen CAS or your 2 crank sensors and work the ignition right. You even have a trailing map for the split.
Or, 2. Are you going to use an old distributor to run your ignition? if that is the case, you could handle leading and trailing timing like the old ignition worked, where it would fire each time the 4 tooth trigger passed a reluctor. You would neet to set the trigger type as Standard, and wire up each reluctor to each haltech trigger (main and home), that way, the haltech fires each rotor's plugs at the same time. Im told that runing it like this has only one side effect, you loose a little low end torque.
Let me know if you need help wiring it up.

I do need help with wiring.when I got the 6 a the guy was running it on a 4cyl and he gave me the wiring, sensorscoil packs, ignitors and a small black box I am figureing is the igniton inhancer.I tore down his harness and wired my plugs in got rid of all the parts that went to his harness .I need to know how to wire my tps and ra8 relucter . I have the motor in trans hooked up turbo on wastegate and bov on need to wire and fire cant wait if you could help me I would really appreciate it .

Or, ideally, a Motec CDI box, or an Autronic 500R, or (we hope soon) an AEM C2DI box which is in theory supposed to work with the Rotary's funky ignition system.
how about a msd 6t on leading and dis 4 on trailing I have a 12a dizzy a 2nd gendizzy and the cosmo dizzy which should I use and how do I wire the cosmo tps what are the pin values ?
If you use different CDI boxes you get different spark characteristics, thats why its recommended you use the same one all around. If you use the old dissy use 2 MSD 6A's, if you use the DIS units, just use 2 DIS-2.
The TPS has 4 pins, you need to know which are power, ground and full range 0-5v signal, the 4th is a switch that goes from 0 to 5v after a certain point.

okay I hooked everything up and made my own harness removing all the wires that went to the po's harness I have power in and on some of the wires power out but it wont hook to laptop I checked the wiring on the plug to my laptop a wire was off I soldered it back on and still wont connect I called haltech and they cant get me a new harness so is there anyone that could build my harness and make this work?I have everything I stripped off .

Did you try connecting your lappy directly to the serial connector on the Harness?
If you want i can give you my phone number so you can call me and i can guide you throught this.
