E8 firmware error

so jrat and i were trying to get my car started tonight and halfway though the fuel pump stop priming when we are cranking. we take a look at the ecu and it says it has a firmware error and i need to reload it. well about 30 reloads latter 1 battery and alot of hitting my head, nothing. the old battery was reading 10v. the new one is 12v no difference. i have tryed reloaded the firmware multiple times on both batteries. i have no idea what happened. we didnt change any thing. the ecu thinks it is a e11 when i cycle the key after the reload just like i had done nothing... the sensors are reading and i have no idea.... please some one help, i really dont want to have to send it back...

o btw the car ran twice but was idling at 5k rpm which we belive was a timing error rather then any thing else. so it was working perfectly before but not now...

thanks,
carlos

This exact scenario happened to me I used the E8 firmware on hitmans site and was golden.

What firmare are you trying to load on it?

Perhaps if you have a firmare halwin mismatch it will prevent it from loading?

we tried the one on Hitmans site, and it seems to load, then come on line. Once you power cycle, it drops back off. Wierd..

I never had to reload firmware on my E8 at all.

Just to make sure, you know that the fuel pump prime is only for a set time. I would guess that mine goes for about 7 to 10 seconds and then stops.

I can't explain the firmware error, but if the fuel pump is your only symptom, it may not be faulty.

if the error you recieve says something about the ECU being in boot mode you will need to go to the main setup page on the advanced tab and unlock the "boot mode safety lock" then set to "normal" then set the lock back on.
