E6X HElp!

Hey guys!
Im new to these forums but need some help with the Haltech E6x.
I dont drive a MAzda but have a Tiburon..
I have the E6X all installed and im using a Digtial crank sensor but the car WONT start.
There is NO signal coming from the crank sensor at all..
We even tried to reverse the 3 wires around and still nothing..
I get no SIGNAL while i try to crank the car so thi smeans the HAltech should be OK and its due to the fact the New Crank sensor is screwed...

What can you guys suggest?
The Digital crank sensor is Brand new from the dealer?
Thanks guys!

take the ecu out and hook up either an oscilloscope or a volt meter and check to see if a signel is being generated. make sure to have the volt meter set on a/c current, it should only make a few milivolts but the signel should be constant with your rpms. even better if you have an oscilloscope you can check and see if the timiing is correct.

hope this helps

I think my machainc did use a oscilloscope and said its the crank sensor.
Since i get no SIGNAL at all while cranking the engine then it defently means either the crank sensor or the actual Harness plug connected to the crank sensor is faulty. The harness measures about 2-3 inches long......
It cant be the Haltech becuase the crank sensor has no SIGNAL but could be wrong..
Also the crank sensor im using is digital and have it set to HAll effect and Motronic..

I personally dont have any experence with a tiburon but if the CAS works like the one of the rx7 you might need to check the spacing between the wheel and the actuall sensors, for the rx7 it has to be within 3mm to work correctly.

if your getting no signal its either the sensor or the wiring from the sensor.......if you can get it to pick on on the scope then it might be your haltech. you might want to call them up and see what they say about that kind of car.

WHAT is a CAS?

So then your saying if no signal is detected from the crank sensor then its faulty or the harness is faulty while cranking the motor?
But the HAltech's OK?

I also forgot to mention if th ecam sensor has anything to this with this also.Im not 100% sure but i think my machainc is using the cam sensor and running Sequential as opposed to Batched..
Can thi shave anything to do with it also if th ecam sensor and timing is not right?
OR is the crank sensor having no signal a seperate issue
Thanks!

cas = crank angle sensor.

fine were the CAS connects to the ecu, look for a trigger and a ground, hook the trigger up to either a scope or just a voltmeter, if you use a volt meter set it to A/c current, depending on how good of a multimeter it is, it might respond fast enought to see the acutall pickups, if not it should at least show a volt increase, this would mean that your wiring in correct and the settings in the haltech are not.

What kind of trigger setup are you using with the haltech?
what are your gains at?

The solution to your problem is this, if your Tib is 2002 and newer, get an older crank sensor, from what ive seen the more modern Tibs have a "digital" crank sensor and the Haltech doesnt read this, the older ones had an analog one and it will work just fine, from what ive been told it bolts right up with no mods.

Im not really machainicly incliend but isnt the CAS the same as a Crank sensor which has the three wires being Power Ground and signal?
Also i think my machainc di duse a scope an dhe did say its the crank sensor..
As i menationed there is No signal coming from the crank sensor while starting the car and no signal is being sent back to the HAltech to see on a Laptop for Rpm..
Doesnt thi s sound more of th eproblem with the crank sensor itself being Faulty?
I did have a Base map for the car and under Trigger i have it at

Trigger Angle =78
Trigger Type= Motronic
Teeth No =120 Offset =6
Trigger Edge=Rising
Home input=Hall effect
Home Edge =Rising

Now my question is will any of these setting affect the starting of hthe car and not making the crank signal to work?
For example if Home Edge was set to FALLING would it make a differnece in startin gth ecar and getting signal?

Or being that the cam sensor is not hooked up and running Sequental injection....

CLAUDIO RX-7...
My Tiburon is a 1997 and the reasn why we dont use the Anolog one is becuase we get no signal passed 3500rpms and lots of people run the digital crank to make it work properly.
BTW who do you know has a Tiburon with a Haltech installed with no issues?
Thanks Guys!

Thanks Claudio

Well guys!
It ended up being a Faulty Crank sensor and now i got another on and the car started just fine
Now i noticed my Car idles at 2500rpms and it wont go down.I tried to play with the Throddle Body screw and Nothing..
You guys no how to fix this problem?
Im thinking its my Idle Bypass Valve(Bosch) which is not installed but ALot guys running th eHAltech in The Tiburon have no issues with it and DONT have the IBV installed..........

How would i hook up the Three wires coming from teh idle Bypass Valve?
Thansk!

If idle revs wont come down you have a vaccum leak and your mS are a tad high. You need to check nothing is letting air in the intake.

Emain Haltech, and tell them what each of your wires on your IAC is for, they should be able to tell you how to hook it up and set it up.

Milisecconds.... When the engine is leaking vaccum the revs will go up more if you have enough miliseconds on there....

So go over the engines vaccums and try to find the leak.
