I hooked up my E6k to my FD last night and played around with the software for a bit. I've been trying to read up on how to zero the ignition and I came across this satement, which seems to originate from HITmans website:

I think I understand the concept of timing lock, and hooking my light to T1 involves less digging than trying to reach L1, so this sounds great. I'm a little puzzled though; this method has to rely on there being a 15 degree split, right? Where does this split come from? Is there a 15 degree split implied in the timing lock feature? Is it a factory default, or is the method maybe dependent on me using HITmans base map?

How does everyone else zero their timing? Or does everyone just go with the 63 degree trigger angle?

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Yes, if the Haltech is set-up for rotary and you lock timing, it will automatically lock trailing to 15-degree after.
