E11 build date?

Just wondering if the build date is important when purchasing an E11?

I have access to a unit that has been terminated to install in seconds. Just curious to know if there are any negatives to going this route. I know the unit to be approximately 1year old. (inventory carryover)

Thanks

Well its easy to tell what E11 it is, is it black case or is it red, is it an E11 or an E11v2? Finally with the serial number on the lable in the back of the unit.

And another way is to go inline with it and check what build and firmware version its from.

Thats not really what I'm asking.

I wanted to know if the build date matters???

The unit I am buying is an E11v2.

I just wanted to know if the fact that it is over a year old and not built last month makes any difference?

It should be OK. No evidence v2 has design flows as v1. I am running one with built date about the middle of 2004 without any issues.

Depending on application the present firmware build should be used. Haltech have solved most of the problems I was having with the early units plus with the latest firmware/software you get to use all the new features.
