Differences between Haltech E6 and E6k

Looking for some information on the differences between these two versions.
I'm assuming the E6K is the newer of the two but other than that I haven't been able to find much info on the clear cut differences between these two systems. As far as price goes what would be a fair rate on a used E6 setup w/ wiring harness? Any info will be greatly appreciated!

I wouldn't offer more than $300 for a complete, working E6 (assuming this is an E6S, actually.)

The 'K' has a lot of stuff the earlier versions don't have, including a built-in reluctor adapter, faster ecu, more injector outputs, more output options, etc. What exactly are your goals for your car/ECU??? I'm in NC, I'm sure I can help you either way you want to go, be it a new E6K or an E6S (assuming I can still find one.)

Looking at adding a 60-1 upgrade to the stock center and turbine housing on my FC. Currently have a FD pump with 720 secondaries along with a npr fmic. MY goal is to get the car into the low 300 hp range.

I also have a few wiring bugs with the stock harness that is in pretty bad shape. Leaning towards some type of aftermarket ems to just go ahead and eliminate that poor harness along with my afm. Really like the tunning capabilites of the haltech but would an E6k be overkill for my goal of 300+ hp?

What trigger do you wish to use? Do you need boost control capability in the ECU? There are alternatives to the E6K within the Haltech lineup, but they're not a lot cheaper, if I remember correctly. Tell me about the trigger you're going to use, and I'll tell you what ECU will do it, what it'll cost, and what you won't get that the E6K would otherwise give you.

An E6 isn't worth $100 in my book.&nbsp You'll need to run a custom trigger wheel or grind a bunch of teeth off a stock FC CAS.&nbsp On top of that, you'll need to run a pair of MSD 8509's to compensate for the raw CAS signal.&nbsp A used E6K is priced under $1,000 nowadays, and it's a big jump in performance.

I thought he was talking about an old E6S. The original E6 is, like Ted put it, not worth $100 really. Better off with something current.

still need to make the custom chopper wheel and trigger mount for the E6S. I tried the 8509's without any luck. I would pass on anything below the E6K. internal reluctor makes instal simple and bulletproof, IMO

Thanks for the info guys. It turned out to be an original E6. Glad I didn't go ahead and get it.
I think I'm gonna wait a couple weeks before I decide what ems is right for me. Microtech or the Haltech E6k

Dunno if you heard but Haltech AUS is handling all orders.&nbsp E6K prices have been slashed under $1,000US now.&nbsp Drop them a note (or any authorized dealer listed) for more concrete pricing.
