building the harness

how much of a pain is it and what do i need to retain off my old harness. im building a turbo engine its not a swap so would i need to get a t2 harness first? or can i do with the s4 na harness i have? just wondering what im going to get myself into here. thatnks for any infor

you'll need the cas connector, the TPS connector if its an s5, if its an s4, then junk it and get the haltech TPS. youll need the connector from the portion of the harness that connects to the the windshield wipers. you'll also want the connector that goes underneath the passenger kick panel.

um... lets see.

dont forget the coolant temp connector (behind t-stat) if you want to use teh stock water temp sensor

also the stock temp guage in teh cluster uses a wire coming out of the same connector the wiper motors use, so save the part that connects to the sensor under the oil filter

thanks guys so do i need to get a s4 t2 harness? or can i use the na harness. and the connector for the wiper motor is just so i will have wipers...right? its a track car so i don't think its so important. im guessing i need a s4 t2 cas correct.

You can use whichever harness. The connectors you need will be the same on either. Same for the CAS - use whichever one you've got. If you don't have one, get any one they all do the same job :)

I loved the product and software. Easy to understand and get working.

I absolutely despised having one DOA unit, and a buggy replacement that blew several engines.

All in all though I loved it :)

with the doa unit and the bad unit how hard was it to get the replacements from haltech were they easy to deal with.

classicauto Oct 3, 2008 12:20 PM

Extremely easy.

First DOA unit was checked in Temecula and replaced free of charge. Well, I paid to ship it there...but that was all.
