Am I the only one....

with a haltech on a N/A engine? If not, I I want to know else else does so I can see how your maps look:D

RETed 02-19-04 09:27 PM

Gonna do one soon...on a 20B :)
It depends if you're going TPS or MAP dependent?

Project84 02-19-04 10:18 PM

Map dependent. What else do you need to know? I got 720cc primaries and 1680cc secondaries.

RETed 02-20-04 01:01 AM

Wow, your NA planning to make over 500hp??

rxrotary2_7 02-20-04 07:45 AM

HOLY SHIT thats a lot of fuel for a n/a

Project84 02-20-04 11:53 AM

I got nitrous too. I have a TII motor than I'm planning to rebuild. thats what the injectors were for originally. I figure it wouldn't be impossible to get them to work in a N/A with the Haltech.

$150FC 02-20-04 12:47 PM

shit, you don't even need to fire the 1600s ;)

you gonna be doing the tuning yourself?

Project84 02-20-04 08:19 PM

I want to. Its not a daily driver and I think I can learn how to do it without blowing anything up.

Project84 02-20-04 11:24 PM

You guys figure the 1680s are too big. Should I use a 460 primaries 720 secondaries with the N/A and a 75hp shot of NOS?

RETed 02-20-04 11:31 PM

I would run maybe 4x550's at the most and run the NOS set-up with wet nozzles, controlling the fuel enrichment with the NOS fuel jets.

The Haltech has this funky 2-minute wait "safety" feature that prevents you from engaging the NOS switch before then.

I have a Haltech on my new N/A engine. I am using the 4-550's. MAP not TPS. just finishing tuning.

Project84 02-21-04 01:43 AM

I'll have to do 2x460 and 2x720. I don't have any 550s.

tims, can you email me your map so I can look at it?

tims 02-21-04 11:56 AM

when I have it finished. remind me in a month or so.

pengarufoo 02-21-04 02:32 PM

I have e6k on a 6 port street ported motor running 4 550's.

dyno tuning this spring, but the maps probably won't be much use to you... the configuration is a bit unique.

Project84 02-21-04 04:31 PM

I just want to see a map to get an idea of what it should look like for a N/A engine.

pengarufoo 02-21-04 08:38 PM

http://www.hitman.hm/maps.htm

hitman has some NA maps up.

Project84 02-21-04 10:14 PM

Yeah, I saw those before but I forgot about them. Thanks.

I do;)

Project84 02-24-04 02:47 PM

The 1680s are way too big. I'm using the 460's (don't have any 550s) and the 720s. Still need to turn down the injector impulses cause its idling at 2500 and the exhaust is rich enough to run another engine.

PaulAber, what kind of injectors are you using and are you stagging them?

RX7145 02-24-04 03:56 PM

Stock injectors, And I'm staging them, Thats the way Steve set it up. Works good for me.:D

Hey, thanks a lot for the maps. After looking at it and reading the manual some more, I think I should set mine up for TPS load sensing. I have a map sensor that I can leave open to atmosphere and let the ECU computer changes in the Baro pressure. Looks more comprehensive that way since its a N/A.

RX7145 02-26-04 03:20 AM

TPS works best on a N/A set up. I hope you get yours working soon :)

pengarufoo 02-26-04 04:07 PM

any technical explanation as why 'tps works best on NA' ?

you don't need to connect map sensor for barometrci correction, the e6k has an internal pressure sensor for barometric correction.. just turn it on.
