SBG: Ohlins Coilover - Possible ONE TIME GB

SakeBomb Garage is currently working on a possible ONE TIME GROUP PURCHASE of Ohlins for the FD3S.

Everyone involved would be awarded an individual "SakeBomb Garage Coupon Code" to use with their order.
The dollar amount of the coupons that SBG can award to everyone will depend on how many people we can get to commit to being involved in this group purchase of Ohlins suspension kits, the more the better!

If you are interested in being added to the email list for this potential group purchase please add your name to the list below AND send an EMAIL with Subject Line: "I WANT OHLINS!!" to info@sakebombgarge.com
Make sure to include your name, RX7Club name, and contact information.

We need a MINIMUM of 15 people on board to make this happen.
The more people that join, the bigger the SBG coupon code for will be everyone to use with their Ohlins order! So tell your friends!:icon_tup:

We would like to place the order by the first week of April, so that gives us about 4 weeks from today.
Don't forget, send an EMAIL with Subject Line: "I WANT OHLINS!!" to info@sakebombgarge.com
Make sure to include your name, RX7Club name, and contact information.

We will also be offering re-valving for track setups on new shocks (valved to your spring rate). This is done at Ohlins USA. We are working on pricing for this service and potentially pairing them with a set of springs with a higher spring rate than standard Ohlins springs. For those interested, you can increase spring rate on these dampeners by roughly +30% without needing a re-valve; however, if you're after a much stiffer setup than standard we would recommend a re-valve tailored to your particular spring rates.

Thank you everyone!

Question, do you need to revalve for say 10/8 or 9/7k, and of so would you offer this as well?

Thanks

So the rule of thumb from Ohlins is that the stock valving should be sufficient for +/- 30%. Anything outside of that range should require a re-valve. Now they will re-valve for your particular spring rate and can spec them as such, however, it's $500 per set and if you're not straying too far from the stock 11/11 spring rate you should not really "need" a re-valve. That gives you a range of 7.7KG - 14.3KG to play with.

You should also note that high spring rates do NOT necessarily have a direct relationship to harshness... with proper valving you can get away with a much higher spring rate and actually have quite a compliant setup. Best of both worlds, which the DFV does quite well ;)

We are currently an Eibach dealer and are also in the process of working out a relationship with swift, however with a re-valve AND the new springs the cost starts adding up, as Ohlins will not deduct the 11/11 springs from each kit so you'll end up with two sets.

P.S.- I tried to send you an email but it bounced back...

P.S.S- is this pricing better than your current website pricing of $2400? I want to order sooner rather than later, so if the pricing isn't going to be greatly different I may not want to wait.

Cheers,
Steven

In the original post, it says pricing will be based on how many people sign up; more = cheaper

Well, ok. But they capped it at 15 max slots, so my question is based on 15, seeing how there hasn't been any updates as the list grew. Not to mention we are getting late into March and they wanted to do this by early April, so.....

Yes, with the current interest it looks like we'll be able to do an additional $200 in "rebates" from SakeBomb.

We'll release the details of the GB tonight.... thanks for being patient everyone. It's taken some time to hammer out the details and how it's all going to work. Give us a few hours and we'll post up how to officially join the GB.

SakeBomb Garage 03-22-14 05:20 AM

http://cdn1.bigcommerce.com/server52...g?t=1395482917

We have just finalized the details.... here's what we have so far:

Originally we had 15 total sets total allocated to us, however we have worked out a larger allocation of units until April 7th. Hopefully we can supply enough kits for this group purchase.

April 7th will be the end of the group buy, and payments will not be accepted after this date.

Current Stock We have 8 sets in physical inventory ready to go.
Future Stock Luckily we were able to allocate additional kits through the manufacturer for this lot, however as they are now in production for us. They will have a lead time of 6-8 weeks for production and sea shipping to the US. Kits will ship to customers immediately upon arrival.

All sets that are pre-paid during this group buy will be guaranteed GB pricing regardless of ship date. That said all orders are first come first serve, with the first 8 shipping at the close of the group buy, and additional units shipping in roughly 6-8 weeks (for additional kits currently in production for us).

Here's how the GB will work:

We have set up a product page to purchase a non-refundable GB spot for $100. This is your deposit. Each person will then receive a unique coupon code via email to be used at SakeBombGarage.com for $300 off of the current list pricing (essentially and additional $200 back from SBG off our current discounted price  ). Again this is a ONE TIME arrangement and we will NOT be able to offer this deal again with all likelihood.

As this is a group buy we need ALL ORDERS FINALIZED FOR SUBMISSION AT THE SAME TIME to submit the order. This means EVERYONE purchasing a kit will need to be paid IN FULL before April 7th so the order can be processed.

To place your deposit, please visit: GROUP BUY DEPOSIT Ohlins Coilovers (Full Payment Due Date 4/7/14) - SakeBomb Garage

As a side note, we are able to offer suspension for other chassis as part of this deal as well. If you have friends interested please let them know as this is a one time shot and we pulled quite a few strings to get this lined up. These cars include:
RX8
NA/NB Miata
NC Miata
S2K
Mini
Evo

Thanks for your interest,

So once I receive my coupon, can I then in turn place my order? If so, will my order be pulled from current stock? Meaning it will ship immediately and not have to wait on the GB order?

Thank you.

Steven

5/8 of the "in stock" kits are currently pre-sold, we didn't think there would be this fast of a response on these... eek. Usually group buys like this take a little while to materialize.

Unfortunately we can't ship until the close of the group buy in two weeks... but it's not that far away right? :icon_tup:  ;)
