GB:FD3S Bi-Xenon HID Projector Headlights (almost ready to ship!)

*Please read this entire post, don't just look at the pretty pictures :) *

Sale is limited to the first six people who submit payment! Production of the lights is complete. Once we receive a pending order of bulbs (approx. two weeks) we'll be ready to ship!

The stock headlights on the RX-7 are vastly inadequate and potentially dangerous for night driving. Anyone who's taken a spirited drive on a curvy back road or a dark highway at night will agree. With the FD being very capable of high speeds, there is a strong possibility of missing hazards on the side of the road, up ahead, or around a corner. We decided to fix this problem once and for all. Our solution is the first and only plug and play bi-xenon projector headlight package designed specifically for the RX-7. Many of our customers have commented that our headlights were the best mod they've purchased for their car and some even consider it a safety mod!

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8029/...e5143e25_c.jpg

Highlights:
  • New headlight housings, with bi-xenon (high/low) projectors
  • Optically clear projector lenses
  • New (OEM) Philips 4300K bulbs (5000k Morimoto with 50w ballast option)
  • High quality 35w weatherproofed ballast (50w ballasts also available)
  • Plug and play wiring harness specifically for the FD
  • OEM appearance
  • Could save the life of a deer, and or yours

We’re confident that this is currently the best performing lighting package available for the FD, from here to Japan… bar none! This setup is the standard against which other lights are currently judged. If you haven't seen our lights in action and you're on the fence, feel free to contact us and we'll try to find a customer local to you, who wouldn't mind giving a demonstration.

Our Projector HID kit is plug and play. Simply pop out your own lights, trim the headlight bucket, insert the new lights, and connect the harness.

Here's an old video of the lights functioning. Not a great demonstration but it gives you an idea of what to expect.

Maybe this will help make up your mind :egrin: Their headlights look pretty cool, but I'm not sure how well they perform.

As promised....

These photos have not been edited in any way except to add exposure information in the bottom left of each shot. Just note the difference in beam width, throw and intensity. As you can see it's literally a night and day difference!

You can still purchase them after next week, they'll just be $100 more expensive
Again it really depends if you're going for, looks or performance... I have no first hand experience with HWL/R-magic, but what I've been told by someone who's seen both setups, ours performs better. I'd love to do a side by side comparison test of various headlight packages using the same conditions/camera settings to help others make an informed decision. Our lights are designed to look OEM, some people don't want that look and that's fine. But we're more concerned with how the lights preform as opposed to how they look. I can see why you're having a tough time deciding though I've always liked the R-magic headlights.

I'm not much of a flip up headlight kinds guy, but your kit is sure grown on me to make my mind race now. As always your guys stuff is well thought out and put out top quality stuff. This would just add one more thing to the list.

Sometimes life gets in the way of buying the things you want unfortunately. Hopefully we still have headlights in stock when you're ready. We only have a few sets left and we're unsure when we'll be able to secure more headlight housings.

I received my headlight kit yesterday, just a cursory look shows the kit is well thought out and complete. The materials look first rate, great job and as I install them I will send you guys some pictures. Again a very nice kit. Thanks

'ringmeister 10-03-13 12:14 PM

Are these completely plug-n-play? No cutting, drilling, completely reversible? TIA

TonySeagle 10-03-13 01:15 PM

They also provide excellent customer service. I was having some issues with the relay box and the driver's side ballast, and they sent me a new wiring harness and balast free of charge! Definitely above and beyond. Lights work beautifully now. Thanks!

Just have to clearance the headlight bucket a little bit to clear the new bulbs and connector for the light. If you do it nicely, you'd never know it wasnt always that way. You dont have to remove that much even though I've seen some people really take a lot of material out.

Jason

As Jason said you have to trim the composite bucket slightly to clear the bulb connector. The install is completely reversible since the portion of the bucket that gets trimmed doesn't prevent the stock headlights from being reinstalled.

Also we normally run GB's and you have to wait a few months for us to build and ship the headlights. We currently have them in stock and ready to ship! Thanks again guys for the the kind words

Why you need proper lights ;) Our lights cover nearly 5 lanes wide on the highway and will let you see for light years in front of you on the backroads with high beams. If you're driving (especially if you're driving fast) you can't afford to not see where you are going. It's nearly impossible to out-drive these headlights :D
