Custom Solenoid Rack

To all forum members that might have slow responsive turbo spooling and bad solenoid valves etc, this may be beneficial to you

After saxyman built a custom rack which was widly spread within the community, and recreating this custom rack wasn't quite as easy.

Benefit of this custom solenoid rack includes:

1)Eliminates stock solenoids which fails quick easily due to location
2)Relocate of new solenoids result in long lasting solenoid
3)These solenoids are rated at 100psi therefore it is great for aftermarket twins like BNRs if you wanted higher boost
4)A much more smooth spool transition from primary to secondary turbo.
5)Better reliability on the solenoid system which results a much more enjoyable twin turbo system
6)Responsiveness of solenoid reacts quicker than stock. Some might noticed a difference some might not. Therefore do NOT expect a "faster" response compared to stock solenoid system. However I believe it is "quicker".

More information and pictures of the build can be found HERE

Group Buy close-out: We have 3 months till this GB closes. However if we can fill up the 10 spots on the list, I can start the run right away. IF WE ARE ABLE TO FILL 20 SPOTS ON THE LIST, 1 LUCKLY BUYER WILL BE ABLE TO RECEIVE HIS SOLENOID RACK FREE OF CHARGE!!!!

Shipping time: Once I begin to place orders for parts, you can expect about 3-4 weeks before the finished system arrives at your door. IF ANYTHING WERE TO COME UP, I ASSURE EVERYONE THAT I WILL BE CONSISTENTLY IN CONTACT THROUGH EMAIL OR PMs.

For this GB to work, I would require a non-refundable of $250 up front payment.(Why such a high non-refundable? Because once the order is sent through, there's no refund on my part and these solenoids are freakn expensive. However you will get JUST the solenoids itself if you've decided to back out) If pay by paypal, please USE THIS CALCULATOR to figure out the fee and the payment w/o shipping cost for now. As shipping is to be determined.

Purchase instructions:
Payment can be made via paypal to this address:

I also accept personal checks, money orders or cash (if you decide to drop off the money and you are local)

No problem.

Guys, if you are serious about this, please add yourself on the list as this GB will be open until we hit 10 people. Therefore just add yourself on the list to be sure to save yourself a spot so we are ready, we can pull the trigger and get this going. Thanks in advance!

Total cost is at $525 + shipping right now for 10 people. If we can get 15, it will be 500. And if we can get 20, there will be one lucky person with a free kit =].

Just FYI, for anyone planning to stay sequential, this may be the best money you ever spent. I have had the original kit for several years and am very happy with it. One of the greatest benefits is that you can test any vacuum circuit (relative to the turbos) without going under the manifold. just hook up test gauges and run them into the cockpit. Watch exactly when transition occurs (and when it reverts to primary). If you have a PFC/datalogit, you can adjust transition elements as well.
You have to be a "do-it-yourselfer" for all of this, but if you are still driving a 3rd gen and have twin sequential setup, you are a "do-it-yoursefer" by definition!
Good luck!

Do you guys want to go ahead with this GB? If so, I will start product and accept payment once this is confirmed.

After this initial GB, I will probably bump up the price as my vendor just told me the price of the solenoids and fittings just went up 10%. I want to get this going. What ya'll think?

LOL you are quick! Well, once I get all of you committed, I will start production. Trust me, I want more people out there with these than the crappy stock solenoid system.

I will probably continue to offer this product as long as we are able to get more interests in the future. However it will be at least a minimum of 5 committed orders before I can proceed.

Guys, I just received confirmation that once I place an order. I shall receive the shipments within 7-10 business days. That's approximately 2 week lead time. And it will take about once week for assembly and get ship out. I would suggest that you shall receive your custom rack in a time frame from 3-4 weeks MAX!

However, do expect the unexpected because sometime the distributor WILL make mistakes which I wont have the power to control. However I have confirmed that they have the parts we need in stock. Therefore you are ready to send in your payments.

I take payments in forms of:

Paypal E-check ($5 fee)
Paypal credit card/services (Please send in $257.78 for the fee)
Paypal Gift : under Send Money, there is a tab that you can select either "PURCHASE" or "PERSONAL" . Select "PERSONAL" and click on GIFT and continue. (You will waive the transaction fee if it is directly withdrawn from your account. Remember if you pay with a credit card, there will also be a fee.)
Cashier's check
Cash: If you are local

If paying by payment, under Message section, please include:

Your Forum User Name
Your Full Name
Complete shipping address
Contact phone number and/or email

Me three john!!!! There were almost 20 people under the "interested list" only 5 came through. I guess prices affect the GB quite a bit. On top of that, I am sure the people who were interested compared the prices 6 years ago to now. Which "almost" doubling the prices. What can I say?

I'm sure you've noticed this, but the community is much different now then it was say five years ago. Anyone can put their name on a list, but when it comes time to pay they're nowhere to be seen.

Yep, hence why I needed the 250 deposit due to expensive solenoids. Just went on three other rotary forums and posted there. Let's see if there are more people who are willing to pay out for this amazing system =].

I was mildly interested, but I'd rather keep the rack in the stock position. I'm not really open to dealing with a reticent emissions inspector.

Sephek 09-24-11 01:39 AM

Im interested! as I have the rack out since I'm doing a lot work there, if I order now what would be your eta? I can send full payment now if it makes a difference...

Also, how are these being connected to the harness, there seems to be some variation on the methods. I would like the easiest method and I don't really feel comfortable splicing the oem harness so a pnp would be ideal for me.

On the for the pnp, would you like a straight wiring connection from solenoid rack? or solenoid rack > 8 pin connector > to engine harness connectors?

I dont think this will effect the emission inspector because you are just simply relocating the original system to else where to make the car run better. Unless you are deleting the rest of the emission solenoids and such, then you will "fail" emission otherwise you should be ok. You just need to let the guy know.

Guys, I just wanted to clarify that after this initial GB. The price will go up 10% as my cost for the solenoids has gone up.

I believed I've stated in my build thread but has not mentioned it here on this GB thread. Therefore if you want to save some money, do it now rather than in the second GB and so forth.

Since I've stated this price before the price changed, I will honor the current price ONLY until I fill up the 5th spot or receive my 5th payment.( I've already received my 4th payment last night) However I will still honor the same price if you can get me the payment in by the 28th.

Basically what I am saying is I am not capping this first initial GB to 5 spots, but a minimum of 5 orders to get this going. So, if you really to jump onto this GB do it ASAP!

-Eric

Also, for the the pnp, the latter would work for me.
When you say "straight wiring connection from the solenoid rack" do you mean just plain wires with no connectors at one end?

No, that means it will be straight harness and then blade connetors to one end. So there wont be any weatherpack connectors.

However I am currently trying to make a harness for one of the member at my cost for a "PnP" with one 8 pin connector so it can be easily disconnected behind the UIM rather than removing the UIM to get access to remove the wires for testing etc.

4. twinsinside - Deposit Received
5. wadejg - Deposit Received

Looks like we are ready to lock-and-load. However, I would like to give oyvindjs a couple more days to respond to me as he is the first one to contact me regarding this GB and has been following the build thread since I started (And he is oversea), therefore please bear with me for a couple more days for him to respond so I wont have to put him on the second GB and have to raise a price on him.

Again, I thank you all for the support and patience through this process and I will try my very best to get them out within 3 week time period. However it shouldnt take long than 4 weeks after I order all parts.

Cheers!

Eric Zheng
