Back by popular demand!
http://images.sakebombgarage.com/Pro...B%20FC%20b.jpg With summer in full swing, we seem to be receiving a ton of messages asking if our headlights are available. Unfortunately as we only make them in large batches for group buy runs we’ve had to turn everyone away for single orders due to lack of time to build them as we’re working on so many other projects at the moment. Since the headlights have to be hand built and are very time consuming we’ve put them on the back burner for quite some time. http://i723.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps142e4f57.jpg INFO: We all know that the stock headlights on the RX-7 are completely inadequate for night driving. The possibility of missing something on the side of the road, up ahead, or around a corner creates a dangerous scenario. We finally decided to fix this problem once and for all. SakeBomb Garage is pleased to knock your socks off with the highest quality 'pop-up' Bi-Xenon Projector HID kit for the FC. Unlike our original design this new design does not require housing spacers to clear the bulb connector. At nearly half the cost, and with no hassles with modifications or spacers to fit the deep projector the new setup is a no brainer for anyone looking for a proper lighting setup for their FC (or any other car using the same headlight size). FC Owners: Welcome to the 21st Century! PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS: - New headlight housings, with bi-xenon (high/low) projectors - Optically clear projector lenses - New SBG 4300K bulbs (5000k SBG bulbs with 50w ballast option, 6000k available as special order) - High quality 35w SLIM weather/shock proof digital ballast (35w heavy duty ballasts, & 50w heavy duty ballasts available) - Custom SBG Plug and Play wiring harness - specifically for the FC Optional 35W HeavyDuty Ballast Upgrade: Our standard Bi-Xenon kit comes with 35W Slim Ballast to create the most cost effective and lightweight Bi-Xenon kit available. We offer an optional upgrade to a 35W HeavyDuty Ballast, which are more durable and resistant to temperature and vibration. They also have an integrated ignitor for a cleaner and more compact wiring solution. Optional 50W HeavyDuty Ballast Upgrade: We also offer the option of 50W ballasts (and accompanying 5000k bulbs) instead of the OEM-spec 35W ballasts and 4300K bulbs. There are pros and cons to using 50W ballasts, so please select the kit that best suits your personal preference. Xenon bulbs are manufactured to run at 35W, however they can be over-driven to produce more light than would normally be available at a lower wattage. Typically one will find an additional 30% increase in total light, however this extra light does come at a cost: the additional wattage can somewhat reduce the lifespan of the bulbs. The color range of the bulbs is shifted LOWER (more yellow) with increased wattage; however the color temp can be shifted back up to normal bright white by using 5000K bulbs, which is why we will supply the 50W ballasts with 5000K bulbs. At the end of the day, yes, the total light output is increased with 50W ballasts, but it does not change the beam pattern with which it is distributed so you simply end up with a BRIGHTER light, not wider or longer throw. Is this a good thing? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. In the city where streets are well lit, the extra light from the 50w ballasts is definitely welcome, but on very dimly lit back-roads the contrast difference between foreground and background could feel overwhelming to some, and reflector signs will appear very reflective. It is a personal choice whether this increased light output is right for you, but if in doubt remember that the OEM standard is 35W. We’re confident that this is currently the best performing lighting kit available for the FC, from here to Japan… bar none! This setup is the standard against which other lights are currently judged. Yes, they're that good. These lights ARE the gold standard, and we've yet to see a higher performing lighting setup. We built these lights not only for aesthetic benefit, but as a much needed safety item to prevent a potential accident. Yes they are expensive, but so is your car and they have personally saved us from accidents, deer, and tickets over the many years we’ve been running them PRICE ($100 off retail): $465.00 - 35w Ballasts and SBG 4300k Bulbs $485.00 - 35w Heavy Duty Ballasts and SBG 4300k Bulbs $505.00 - 50w Heavy Duty Ballasts (~30% brighter) with SBG 5000K Bulbs This group buy base pricing is $100 off the standard price; However, we typically do not have these in stock as it is. http://images.sakebombgarage.com/Pro...ison-rear2.gif ******************************** GROUP BUY INSTRUCTIONS: This Group Buy will run a little differently than usual. Here's how it will work: 1. We have set up a group buy "deposit" page, which requires you make an initial deposit of $100 towards your headlights. The link to that page is here: GROUP BUY DEPOSIT: FC3S SilverLine Bi-Xenon HID Projector Headlights (July 2015) - SakeBomb Garage LLC 2. After completing payment for this deposit, you will receive a confirmation e-mail of your order. 3. We will then send you a second e-mail containing a unique coupon code for a $200.00 credit towards your purchase of your FC3S: SilverLine Bi-Xenon HID Projector Headlights - SakeBomb Garage LLC 4. YOUR UNIQUE COUPON CODE WILL EXPIRE AT 12:00 MIDNIGHT AUGUST 31ST, 2015 PST. 5. YOU MUST SUBMIT FULL PAYMENT FOR YOUR "FC3S RX-7 SILVER LINE HEADLIGHTS" BY 12:00 MIDNIGHT AUGUST 31ST, 2015 PST. 6. To submit your full payment before 8/31/2015 visit the following link to and check-out using your unique group-buy deposit code: FC3S: SilverLine Bi-Xenon HID Projector Headlights - SakeBomb Garage LLC 7. After 8/31/2015 your group buy code will expire, and you will lose your spot if you have not sent in full payment. If any spots remain you may still complete your checkout at that point, and we will apply your $100 deposit towards the purchase of the lights. ******************************** NOTE: We are making 15 sets of lights total for this run. We do not know when/if we will have time to make these available again, so for now this will be the last run of headlights until further notice. http://i723.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/IMG_7793.jpg Attachment 622884 Attachment 622885 Add yourself to the list and post it below! Info on our Bi-Xenon setup
HID Lighting 101: http://images.sakebombgarage.com/Pro...rock-chalk.jpg Other HID “kits” use the stock headlight housing in conjunction with a Xenon bulb. The plus side, they are unbelievably cheap. The negative side? Typically these setups: - Blind other drivers - Have a horrible field of view - Severely scatter the light - Have uneven lighting with no cutoff - Actually WORSEN your night vision (they throw intense light into the foreground. This makes your pupils close, causing your distance night-vision to become worse than with your stock halogen lights) Projector HID's on the other hand are what is used in every OEM HID lighting setup. Our Projectors: - Have a very even dispersion of light - Have a very wide dispersion of light - Have a very long throw (with high beams) - Illuminate much larger portions of the road while not ruining your night vision - Oh yeah, and they don't blind other drivers, or attract attention from people who may or may not drive Crown Victorias Projectors vs Reflectors: http://images.sakebombgarage.com/Pro...-Projector.gif Here is a good video comparing true projector HID’s to “conversion/reflector” HID’s: To truly see the difference you need to see our kit in person, pictures honestly don’t do it justice. But don’t take our word for it… Here’s what current owners have said: http://images.sakebombgarage.com/Pro...D3_HID/50w.png Optional 50W Ballasts: We are now offering the option of a 50w ballast (and accompanying 5000k bulb) instead of the OEM-spec 35w ballasts. There are pros and cons to using 50w ballasts, but we'll do our best to explain the differences below. Xenon bulbs are manufactured to run at 35 watts, however they can be over-driven to produce more light than would normally be available at a lower wattage. Typically one will find an additional 30% increase in total light, however this extra light does come at a cost. The additional wattage does reduce the lifespan of the bulbs somewhat. The color range of the bulbs is shifted LOWER (more yellow) with increased wattage (however the color temp can be shifted back up to normal (around 4300k) by using "5000K bulbs"), which is why we will supply this kit with 5000 Kelvin bulbs. At the end of the day, yes, the total light output is increased, but it does not change the beam pattern with which it is distributed, so you simply end up with a BRIGHTER light, not wider or longer throw. |

Could you elaborate more on the difference between the Slim and HD ballasts, please.

I'm very interested in this for my FC, but have a few questions I didn't see answered here before I pull the trigger on joining the GB.
1. Do you have detailed installation instructions posted up somewhere that I can download & review first before signing up? 2. Do you have a solid delivery date scheduled, based on the current group buy cut-off for orders? Previous posts allude to "late Sep/early Oct", but I'd feel more comfortable with an actual "no later than" delivery date. 3. Assuming you do commit to a "no later than" delivery date, if SBGarage fails to meet that date, will folks who participated in the GB have the option to either wait for delivery or chose to opt out and receive a full & prompt refund of their payments? Thanks! |
just a tip- offer the extended length harness for the ballasts, it allows the ballast to be mounted in a much better area of the FC especially when you factor in the pop- up
|
Can we order replacement parts through you as well?
|
the quality of this kit is awesome dudes. I picked up a set last GB with the heavy duty ballast.
|
Sorry for the delay getting back to everyone! We were shortstaffed last week, there's a superbug going around that took out the whole team for a few days :( Stay healthy folks!

Thanks! We don't have a solid delivery date, mainly because we're building multiple chassis' HID kits all at the same time and each kit has its own complications. Ideally we'll have these out within the next few weeks but as with our previous group buys it's always a bit of a guessing game. If at any point you wish to back out of the group buy, please email us and we'll help get things taken care of.

We are getting close to the end of the month, any update?
|
Updates?
|
Been about a month since we've heard from you and another weeks time will be mid October. Any updates for us?
|
I emailed them and they're in the process of building them
"If we are finished in time next week, but otherwise we'll be looking at the week after. We lost one employee last week so were firing on half cylinders at the moment but don't want to cut any corners to try to speed it up" |
Since no updates at all this week that means we are expecting them to ship out next week?
|
Feeling the same way. Would like an update since the email I got said they'd be shipping out late last week. It's now late this week... Please just keep us updated.

Long story short, thank you guys for bearing with us through this process, it's taken longer than we expected and we had to drag out the group buy longer than we wanted due to low numbers. Unfortunately the FC market seems to have dried up for the most part so continuing to develop for this chassis will be somewhat limited... though in addition to the HID's we do have a few parts for the FC due to be released in the next month or so. Hopefully performance parts will resonate a bit better with the FC community than performance lights ;) . SBG only stays in business and develops parts based on community interest... if the interest disappears so do we. Vote with your FC parts orders from us, so we don't have to start doing Hondas :D -Heath |

Hey everyone, thanks for bearing with us. We've been understaffed for the last couple weeks so we're a bit behind schedule, but that said, we're shipping out half the orders tomorrow, and the rest mid-way through next week. We'll send emails to anyone who still needs to submit final payment. Those that already submitted final payment are at the top of the list in order of submission date.

Soooooo.... Is that a no on tracking numbers? Have they gone out?
|
Its better to email them to check the status of your order, I got mine already after a problem shipping it to me, when i recieved it they sent me a wrong bulb. And Im still waiting for a tracking # for the bulb that would fit the hid housing
|
For anyone still waiting on their lights, they will be out Monday (we're working this weekend to make sure of that).
Galaxy Convoy, if you didn't receive your bulb replacement, send us an email immediately and we'll figure out what's up. |
worth the wait boys. sit tight
|
Still waiting.....
I was given my tracking number about 2 weeks ago, gave FedEx a call today and they said they never received a physical package, only that a label was created. So far, HORRIBLE customer service. Over a month late with delivery and next to nothing in the way of updates on what the hell is going on. I'm not upset that it's late, more that there was never any communication on why it's late. I would very much like a phone call explaining where my package is and when it will be in my hands as soon as possible. |
Thanks for the call guys. I'll get back to you tomorrow
|
FC Light delays
Blackball7 We got your message and we're trying to track down what happened to your shipment. We put in a claim with Fedex for the lost package and hopefully it'll turn up. In the meantime, we've packed you another kit, its now sitting in our outgoing mail room, with the rest of our final FC HID kit batch. If the original kit shows up as well, we'll get a return label to you, sorry for the hiccup.
For anyone else waiting on an HID kit, the delays with this batch were an embarrassment for us, but they are now completed and in the mail. We took a shot when completed this run. Once again, we're very sorry for all the delays, Happy Holidays. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...c65fc7b689.jpg |
Darn, I wish i picked up an FC before this GB because I seriously want to update my lights. Is there any chance that these make a come back?!

We have gotten multiple customer contacts for FC lights, and are putting together a small production run of them now. If you're interested in reserving a set, just check out on our product page! Supplies are limited, we have to special order a lot of these components, so pick up your pre-order spot before they sell out! |
Perfect, thanks! How long do these lights last? I am interested in the 50w so how much of a shorter life span would that be compared to the 35w. Also, what's the difference between the slim and the HD. Thanks! Can't wait to place my order!

The bulb lifespan is hard to gauge... Replacement bulbs are under $50 but these bulbs last a VERY long time... standard 35w setups can last as long as 100K miles or more, and I wouldn't expect more than a 10-20% reduction in bulb life with the over-driven 50w ballasts.... either way you're looking at a VERY VERY long time between bulb replacements :icon_tup:. -Heath |
