hello everyone i dont really know where else to post this at but im in high school and my english teacher for some gay ass project month is tryin to tell me that some other guy invented the rotary engine NOT Dr wankel im sooo pissed at her she can talk bout what ever but when she steps into my world i will prove her wrong if anyone can send me any info to prove that dr wankel invented the rotary i would greatly rub it in my pain in the ass english teachers face thanx guys it angers me for someone to preach about something they dont even know about

I'm pretty sure it's Felix Wankel. Where at in South Jersey are you? I grew up there.

Give your teacher this and tell her to shut the f*ck up. He may not have been the first to think of a spinning triangle, but he was the first to make a rotary engine and one that worked. He patented and massed produced it, so he is the creater.

There are far too many theory's on that subject. Well I don't know who invented the technology of the rotary. Felix Wankel may have invented it, but I know he perfected it, and then sold the concept to Mazda.

No, You teacher is correct The inventor of the rotary engine was James Watt, From 1772-1782 The inventor of the rotary-motion steam engine, also took up research on a rotary-type internal combustion engine Dr Felix just took this design and made it what we have today! And it really goes back more than that if you want, in 1588 Agostino Ramelli designed the first Rotary Water pump! It wasn't until 1930 that felix took ouit his first patent on the engine,It wasn't until 1957 that his first engine was constructed and it achieved an astounding 26hp. This was his DKM engine Next was the KKM the one we all no and love today. And Mazda wasn't the first car manufacture to produce a production vehicle with a rotary engine! I was NSU's Prinz,later their Spider and then the more known R08O! N.S.U and Felix took out over 30 patents covering all aspects of the new engine design in 1954. And since he worked for N.S.U They had control over most of those patents!

I grew up in Salem. Its about 15 minutes from Wilmington, DE. I'm a huge Eagles fan. Looks like we just got Jevon Kearse.

look up rotary engine in an encyclopedia, it will most surely say that Wankel did. Then you can tell your teacher to accompany to the library and show it to her.
Surely she'll start saying something like how the encyclopedia is not entirely true so she doesn't look stupid. Then smack her over the head with the encyclopedia and do what you want with her after that. And even though she is correct in a sense, you'll win the battle.

Wankel did NOT make what we have today. Wankel made the KKM design, but another guy furthered it to the DKM which is more like what we have today. Wankel wasnt even fond of the design. Wankel's design didnt have stationary housings and the spark plugs were inside (inside!) the engine (not just screwed "into" the engine). search DKM and KKM and find some books. Wankel is not the original inventor nor the latest. his designs were actually used as pumps and some spun as fast as turbos.

Its like trying to figure out who created the world it doesn't really matter all that much as long as its there. What matters is that we cant live without the rotary engine as much as we cant live in space (or atleast its just me). :D

The peanut shape housing and triangular rotor became the property of NSU and Wankel as the result of a generous personal gesture of a Swiss engineer Bernard Maillard, working ror the truck builders adolph Sauer.

Bernard Maillard patented the configuration in 1943 and then When Wankel and NSU were seeking a patent he Voluntarily gave up in advance any claims he might have had to share in the patant rights. (Which at this time almost expired.)

The USA patent office was wrong to give a patent for the previously patented configuration applied for in 1958 and issued in June of 1961.

In 1960 the peanut housing and triangular rotor should have been in the public domain.

In 1885 Edison patented a working wireless telegraph that had as its receiving end a crude radio that was used for the first radio broadcast.

So goes for our history.

If you closely look at Wankel and NSU's first prototype you will see a lack of sealing technolegy in the sealing grid.

IF Marconi invented the wireless telegraph then Wankel invented the WAnkel engine.

Here are some sites that give some info about the invention or inventor. In which I would say was Felix Wankel but there were many others whom must also be appreciated for the the development of the rotary, but in general I would say that Wankel was the genius in my eyes!! :)

Don't forget that the piston aircraft engine in known as a rotary because of how the pistons are set out. This may be what she is referring to...
