where should my car idle

what should my idle rpm be?
i am under 400rpm...
honestly i have a few question but i am very new to forums

this winter i am trying to plan out a build but i dont know where to start.
anyone got any tips

No lower than 750 rpm. With your's being so low it appears your BAC, which helps to idle the car at 750 rpm, is either removed or non functional.

i know im a little high up there
but my car runs comfortably around 1500

Anything above 1100 rpm and the timing advances a little. You need to drop it down.

So far I am sitting about 800RPM. Never wanted to play around with the idel since that is where has been. 91 N/a

750 rpm plus or minus 10 percent is what is says on the sticker on the hood.(if I recall right)
I find around 800 is good..my old N/A ran 780 constant.

what is the BAC and how would i adjust my idle

by pass air control, ok so now where would this be located or how can i fix this

It's located on the throttle body on the driver's side and it has a plug connected to it that looks like an injector plug. It also has three hoses running to it as two are coolant and one is air. If you remove the plug there are two terminals on the BAC itself. Supply a ground to one terminal and battery voltage to the other and it should click. Try this a several times to perhaps loosen it up in case it is stuck. Also, after driving the car for a while it should vibrate some for a period of time before going silent. You could also remove the BAC and spray carb cleaner in it followed by trying to get it to click as suggested above to assist in cleaning it.

i feel like when i start my car after its been sitting for a few hrs is idles from 700 and jumps up to 1100 every second or so. what can this be caused by??
and after the car is warmed up it idles around 400+ maybe.
also i came to find out that my thermostat has been removed from the car and my temp gauge never goes above 1/4%
is this bad

The TPS sensor Green/Red wire nees to read 1 volt w/key to on and engine fully warmed up. There is an adjustment screw about an inch long encased in a spring that is part of the front throttle linkage which is used to adjust the voltage reading back to spec.

As stated already, "your BAC is not working properly" as it is designed to maintain an idle speed of no lower than 750 rpm when it is functioning properly. Obviously yours is not functioning properly.

You need a thermostat.

thanks for the info guys i am putting to car in storage for the winter as i am in ny so depending where i locate the car i got some stuff to work on this winter.
but its prolly gonna be in a tight storage unnit so i thnk i am gonna have to wait til spring... we got 10+ inches of snow last night WTF.
