whats wrong with this picture
i know what they are but anyone know wtf is going on. the hoses are going in to the red 1. the other 1 has the electrics hooked up and is attached to the uim. also the thing to the upper left. is that abs? can't find anything in the FSM

Looks like a BAC delete fail to me : )
Basically the RED BAC has the coolant lines still attached to it, but functionally, it is doing nothing but sitting there. On the top of it are two phillips screws. The coolant hoses connected to a hard line on the top of the BAC that can be removed using the two screws. Then you can transfer that hardline/softline combo the the BAC on the UIM.
The BAC on the upper intake manifold is connected electrically, I can't see the BIG hose from the pic, but the BAC on the upper intake manifold should have a giant hose connected to it. If it does, just transfer those coolant lines to the BAC on the UIM, and toss or store the red one. If it doesn't have the one giant hose, look for it and hook it up properly.
The thing to the upper left???? I see an A/C line and the black guy is the AWS solenoid (accelerated warmup system, a.k.a accelerated wear system)

its my parts car im pulling the engine tomorrow and everything else i want. i pulled the red bac off already. but what was the point im prolly just gonna delete the bac anyway. when i have it out of a vehicle ima delete every unnecessary everything. the goal is lightness around 1900 lbs and 300 hp. aslo i dicked up. the thing to the lower left of the pic i think thats abs yes? the painted thing with what looks like brake lines.

The BAC goes full open or at least as open as it can get when the car is started so you might have difficulty starting your car if everything isn't in tip top shape. Also, if you plan on keeping the A/C in working condition you'll need the BAC. If it isn't broken then don't mess with it.
