Turbo 2 Bridgeport Compression Help
Turbo 2 Bridgeport Compression Help
I’m currently looking at a 1990 RX7 with a bridgeported turbo 2 swap. Port was done by Renown Racing down in SoCal. According to the owner the motor has about 5k miles on it and was rebuilt 2 years ago. Compression is 80psi all around. Is that a safe motor? I plan to drive over 1k miles back home in the car. Do bridge ports lower compression because of the overlap?

The larger issue is you want to buy a heavily modified turbo rx7 from a private party and drive it 1,000 miles home.
Your lucky the seller isnt telling you the compression is 100psi. There is nothing stopping him from selling you a wreck.
If your set on this adventure, rent a uhaul and a trailer or at least get insurance coverage for the tow home in case.

It’s not actually super modified. Other than the bridgeport the motor is stock. It has a microtech ecu and a upgraded fuel system. Thanks for the tow insurance suggestion. Uhaul could also be nice.
