Transmission help
Hey guys, recently on my FD, when shifting from neutral to first, or neutral to reverse, I experience a terrible grinding sound.
It's happened before, mostly when I go into reverse, but that was not very often. Now it's happens almost 50 percent of the time. Recently, I adjusted my clutch pedal so that it was lower and shorter. I thought that might be the problem, so I tried putting it back - but that didn't really help. Do you think this could've been the problem? I was thinking about changing the transmission fluid. Would that be the case? Or would it be something more serious like my synchro's? Thanks for your help guys. |
i'd make sure the clutch is fully disengaging. putting some synthetic like redline in wouldn't hurt either. i would think if it was a clutch issue, it would grind in every gear.

Lowering your clutch pedal is probably causing the problem. Put it back, and make sure there is only a little bit of play. The adjustment is a threaded pin. Easy to adjust.
