TPS - does it affect performance

situation - 93 fd new rebuild; installed PFC - the engine kept surging

- adjusted my TPS and tried to get to the voltage numbers to match as per the forum numbers and FSM but unable to get to them,

so I started the car and adjusted the tps while running - I got the car to stop surging - cars running great now but the questions is??? does the tps affect my performance because it is not at the ideal position?

thanks

...no, the TPS only reports back to the ECU where the throttle is...i.e. closed or near WOT. Actual performance is not affected.

TPS sensors are used by ECM's for accel enrichment and other changes to timing and fueling.

Yes, its signifigant, mostly for throttle responce, but it is important.
