Sharp edge on apex seal?
Seems that my front rotor apex seals have a sharp edge. Is there anything done to fix this or are they scrap? Thanks

sharp edge where on the seal? the question is rather vague.
The edge against the housing. The edge is no longer beveled.
a picture would help, i have never seen a seal wear flat before.
I will get some pics in the am. I have sent some emails to the manufacturer of these somewhat costly seals but I have not heard back yet. The edge is very pronounced, enough to cut you if you ran it across your finger.
the question begs,, why one rotor,, and not other.. something specific to that rotor is happening
Edit: found out you're running ALS seals (saw it in your other thread).
A pic or two would be nice. What is your OMP outputing? Factory spec cc? Or premix? |

Normaly a sharp Apex is an apex that have reached it's end......probably it's time to change the apex...
BTW it's strange that the apex is from front rotor.... |
Premix, 1 oz per gallon. Somehow the front rotor, 1 apex seal actually ended up opening the groove of the rotor and is now useless. You can see how it is much wider than the other slots. I am now searching for a new rotor and probably going to super seals as another $450 is out of the question.

Is there a possibility of them being saved?
They are sharp due to the worn....I think you can't save them...
worn rotors? yes.
