Rotary engine compression tester

I'm shopping for a rotary engine compression tester. What options do we have?

I ran across this:
https://rotarycompressiontester.com/

and was curious whether it'll last. Price is bit high but seems well built at least superficially.

if there's any proven model, can anyone recommend any compression tester for enthusiast/professional use?

No, theres really only 3 "true" rotary compression testers, OEM mazda, another company but they recently went out of business (can't remember the name), and the one you listed

If you think the one you mentioned is expensive, don't even look at mazdas, you'll $hit

The one you mentioned has gone through 2 versions i believe, and from what i've seen is a very well built tool, it even compensates for engine RPM, not sure about altitude though

Honestly unless your in the rotary repairing business, or seem to go through alot of engines, a basic piston compression tester gives you a close enough idea of engine health

cool thanks.

I don't mind the price as long as it's a good reliable tester. I just wanted to make sure it's a proven unit. Would love some feedback from actual users or a small shop.

I have the other unit, it's by Rotary Diagnostics. It's a great tool, just not as straight forward to use as the one you listed. You need to hook it up to a PC during the test and it'll output compression result in a waveform, then you can use the cursor to look at each peak value, and do some math to get the RPM.

The one from Rotary Compression Tester seems to be very well built, plus you have all the reading right in front of you, no need to monkey around with a laptop.

Rotary Compression Tester

I have the Rotary Compression Tester, bought it to keep an eye on my Cosmo. Easy to use and set up. Have only used it the one time, but so far but I like it.

It is a good tester. I had Steve come down to my shop so that we could compare it to my latest version Mazda tester.

The quality is nice and it reads close to the Mazda tester, a little high. His newest tester incorporates RPM normalization at 250 rpm like the Mazda tester, it just does not have elevation correction which explains why it reads a little high. The quick disconnect that he just incorporated is a nice addition.

thanks!

on a side note, love your high watt starter. I was little surprised when I first cranked it. :)
