replacing s5 rotor
I started work on a complete brake tuneup for my 90 vert... so its a 4 piston.
But i wasn't able to get the rotor off the hub. Hanes didn't talk much about the rotors much, so i assume i was doing things correctly and its just rusted on. So before i take it to a machine shop and have it pressed off I'd like someone to tell me if i have to remove that centre aluminum piece or not. success!
let it soak in wd-40 over night, then woke up angry as ever and gave it a few good whacks with the sledge hammer.
http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/4...9129li9.th.jpg sorta destroyed the old rotor but the hub and lugs seem to be fine. http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/3...9133ht6.th.jpg then cleaned it out and in. http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/6...9137jg0.th.jpghttp://img514.imageshack.us/img514/6...9139aw6.th.jpg but it turns out that the centre aluminum part i was crying about is just part of the all-aluminum hub... crazy -just in case anybody was interested:) thanks anyway |
