Did you try what was suggested at all or were those ideas thrown to the wind?

If you're intent on believing it's the CAS then recheck the connections to the CAS. Besides the plug that connects to the CAS pigtail there is an intermediate connector called "FE-04" which mates the Front harness to the Engine harness and this connector is located near the Master Cylinder. You can also ohm out the CAS to see if it falls within spec. Ohming the Green and Blue wires should yield between 110 to 220 ohms and the same thing goes for the Red and White wires.

well if the leading coil (i think not sure) is bad, the tach will shutoff right after you start it , or not even work.

testing the cas is a good idea, if you really want to test for spark you can take the plugs out and set them on the strut tower or something like that, and have someone watch to see if spark is coming out while u crank it. ive done it before, but kinda risky if u get hit by the sparks
