CA Problems

My 1986 n/a rx7 is giving me a hard time. When I start up the car, it revs up to 3k rpm for 10-15 secs and then the idle drops low and shut down! Please help! Oh, also when I turn the ignition to on position, the oil pressure spike all the way up. Thanks!

How low does the idle drop before shutting off or does it drop immediately to zero. It could be caused by a large vacuum leak. And as far as the oil pressure is concerned you want to check to see if the Yellow/Red wire connecting to the Oil Sender is grounding out or the wire that splits off of this wire that runs to the condenser is grounding out. Either would cause this problem. And is this issue brand new?

You might want to jumper the Fuel Check Connector and see if that makes a difference. If it doesn't then leave the jumper in place but disconnect the AFM and see how that works out. And your fuel pump might be having issues.
