Which motor is better 13b 20b or rennises or v8 (yuck)

fendamonky 11-14-12 08:05 PM

Is this a serious question?

MrGoodnight 11-14-12 08:09 PM

Lol

BrGreenSA 11-14-12 08:31 PM

Yes.

seandizzie 11-14-12 08:59 PM

V12's they are the best.

TheOriginalHDChannel 11-14-12 11:08 PM

V12s are okay. And yes it's a serious question if u don't want a part a part of it unsubscribe

seandizzie 11-14-12 11:22 PM

F119-PW-100- turbo

TheOriginalHDChannel 11-14-12 11:34 PM

Okay Sean dizzle you're the winner lol

13bpower 11-15-12 01:18 AM

Hamsters are better than ducks. Ducks are better than goats. But some types of goats are better than Hamsters. How does that work?

seandizzie 11-15-12 07:47 AM

Original HD- Whats the application. Your question is vauge and the answers will be based more around opinion.

I am glad I won. Yay!!!!

TheOriginalHDChannel 11-15-12 10:08 AM

I know it's supposed to be opinion u say what motor you like best

fendamonky 11-15-12 10:23 AM

Your random opinion poll (to build up post counts) does not belong in the tech support section....

TheOriginalHDChannel 11-15-12 10:25 AM

I know i didn't have the post count for the lounge. So fuss at guys who DO have the post count. Have a nice day:)

TheOriginalHDChannel 11-15-12 10:26 AM

And it's not to build up post count

RotaryEvolution 11-15-12 10:28 AM

either way it's still a vague question.

long block engines can't put out as much power without twisting. 12A>13B>20B
high compression engines are limited in power capability, ie boost limited. 13B-MSP renesis< anything above 275 crank horsepower
V8's cannot rev as high or freely as a rotary engine but they have a much more flat torque curve to make power all around. 13B <+/-> V8
turbo V8 owns a rotary hands down, 13B lovers can whine and moan all they want. turbo V8>>>>>13B

difference is a 13B does not equal V8 displacement, though it does equal modern V8 engine weight.

that is all

TheOriginalHDChannel 11-15-12 10:30 AM

How can it be unclear you post what your favorite motor is only Seandizze has been able to do that and his was a jet

RotaryEvolution 11-15-12 10:40 AM

because the rotary is a spirit killer engine, even the most hardcore of us have a hard time defending these pieces of shit sometimes. but only a few who have totally disowned the rotary will admit that a V8 is a better alternative, in some ways it is, in others it isn't. if the 20B was more readily available you'd hear less whining, more swaps and more n/a conversions making decent reliable figures(at the cost of fuel consumption where the V8s would still rule over the rotary).

my favorite would be a 90* phased 4 rotor, fuck V8s because they will never make you squirm at a sound like that.

TheOriginalHDChannel 11-15-12 10:42 AM

Okay i agree with that statement

13bpower 11-15-12 09:23 PM

The rotary is just so far behind the piston engine in technology and R&D over the past 100 years it really isn't a fair comparison. Even if it did have the same development as the piston engine there were be only a few places where the rotary would be better. If you are only concerned about a smooth long liniar power delivery and a engine that is very compact for it's power potential then the rotary is the way to go. Once you starting being concerned with MPG, reliablity, torque, cost of parts, then there really isn't a comparison.

The rotary delivers a driving experience that is much more in tune with performance driving. For me it is about the driving experience. Blazing accelleration? nah. Huge power numbers? 120 whp :P Perfect balance and a engine that loves to rev, YES.

Mazda needs to put a next gen 13b in the miata chassis and keep it under 2600 lbs. a 16X isn't needed. 240-250 hp would be more than enough. Take it back the the FB roots. Strip it down, keep it cheap and light. The RX8 was successful but a failure at the same time. Do what Toyota did with the GT86 but even more bare bones.

TheOriginalHDChannel 11-15-12 11:37 PM

You're answer is best...for now

TheOriginalHDChannel 11-16-12 11:49 AM

I just saw a Miata today with what sounded like a bridge ported 13b
