Gas Mileage, what's normal?
I'm kinda new to the rx world but i've got a '91 with a racing beat cat back and a k&n cone filter, other than that i'm stock right now. temporary i assure you.
my problem is this. i'm only getting about 12-15 mpg and i know that cant be right. does anyone out there have any suggestions on how i can improve my fuel consumption. thnx |
you can replace the fuel filter and clean the injectors. those 2 things should help some with fuel economy. also, how hard do you drive the car cuz that has a big effect on your mileage.
EDIT: also have you checked to make sure the spark plugs and wires are in good condition? if not make sure to do that. |
Thanks for the post
any suggestions on fuel filters?? as far as how i drive, i know it is a bit harder than is necessary. but even when i slow it down and drive with less intensity my fuel consumption still doesnt improve a whole lot. my plugs are fairly new (3 months) NGK's and i have a set of magnecore wires. |
12-15 where? In town that isnt too unbelievable. If that is all you get on a road trip at 70 mph that is pretty bad.
