fuel injector values?
ive done a little reSearching and have some decent info. help fill in the info that is missing if you know it. cuz im trying to figure out which injectors came in the stock RX7s to do some low-buck upgrades, and so i can have an excuse to visit the Pick-a-part.
1st gen: inj rates/impedence 84 Gsl-se= 680cc/min, 2-3ohms 85 Gsl-ss= 680(720?)cc/min, 2-3ohms 2nd Gen: rates/impedence Non-turbo 86-87.5 (6/87 cutoff)= Prim. 460cc, Sec. 460cc, 2-3ohms 87.5-91 (7/87 up)= Prim. 460cc, Sec. 460cc, 14-15ohms Turbo 2 86-87.5(6/87 cutoff)= Prim. 550cc, Sec. 550cc, 2-3ohms 87.5-91(7/87 up)= Prim. 550cc, Sec. 550cc, 11-12ohms 3rd Gen: rates/ impedence Ser 6= Prim. 650/680cc*, Sec. 850cc, 14-15ohms* RETed I'm not too sure what the DSM's run, but I know the FC's run these... 1986-1987.5 NA - 460cc/min, low-impedence, square plug, side tab 1986-1987.5 turbo - 550cc/min, low-impedence, square plug, side tab (build date divides 1987 models at 06/87) 1987.5-1988 NA - 460cc/min, high-impedence, square plug, side tab 1987.5-1988 turbo - 550cc/min, high-impedence, square plug, side tab 1989-1991 NA - 460cc/min, high-impedence, oval plug, center tab 1989-1991 NA - 550cc/min, high-impedence, oval plug, center tab I can confirm the low-impedence turbo injectors are purple (new) and tan (old and faded) tops. The 1989-1991 turbo fuel injectors are red (new) and pink (old and faded) tops. The 1984-1985 GSL-SE (2 per engine) are 680cc/min fuel injectors and swap easily into 1986-1988 FC's. the ?? and * mean that im not 100% of the accuracy of the data, so if you do happen to know the right figures, please chime in. once i figure out which cars came with what, ill know what to look for when it comes time for bigger injectors. thanks chris Edit:thanks to Hailers and RETed |
i thought third gens had 550cc primaries.

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=35524 On your list the 84/85 should be 680's and should be 2-3 ohms. The 86-87 1/2 should be 460's for n/a and be 2-3ohms. And 87turbo should be 550's and 2-3 ohms for the first half of 87 and the second half of 87turbo should be 11-12ohm.
