Electrical Help Sought
I can turn the ignition switch to off and pull the key, yet the car remains running. The switch tests ok. Any thoughts or experiences?

Check the main relay. It could be sticky. It's located on the driver's side of the engine bay, right next to the trailing coils.

Does it still run like normal? Or does it just splutter for a bit?
If it splutters, that's called run-on, but I've never heard of it happening on a rotary before!! Lob some carbon-removing stuff into your tank to stop this. If it just runs perfectly normal though, then it's electrical |
I'm heading in the direction of a stuck relay .... if that's possible. Anyhow, that's my next plan, so thanks for the direction.
As far as run-on, this is not. If it weren't for the steering lock she head right down the road without the key. Jack |
Cut the cover clips off the relay casing, and dunk it in some white spirit to clean it. They can sometimes oxidise or get a carbon build-up inside of them, the bigger the relay, the bigger the problem
