how do u know its toast?? |
That huge scratch for starters
|
Not unless you are HARD UP for money and cant afford another used one for a hundred or 2. Using a flat razor blade be sure that there are no high spots, grind or sand them down if so. Since compression is a moot point in that area of the engine, the impact would be minimal so long as none of the scratch interferes with the seal or wears into it.
But no, I'd never use it. |
what's the compression area look like?
|
im assuming you're asking where the compression area is, because there are no pictures of it above. But basically the compression area is at the top of the housing moving down towards the spark plug side, if there is no scratching or flaking on that part, then the motor should be able to still run very well. Although im going to agree with everybody else and say i wouldn't use that housing in a rebuild

no, i meant what does it look like...is it damaged? |
sorry about that guys, ya i dont think its damaged, i will check it out when i get home from work later on today, ill throw some more pictures up too.
|
If you have to ask.. it's not good enough.
My opinion, if you want your motor to last, get a new one. |
ya i already picked up some, i just wanted to see if it was still good or not
