Another DIY Oil Metering lines - but these are pre-bent like OEM
 

I am rebuilding an 85 SE motor and 2 of the OMP lines were broken

So i searched the forum and found a couple post relating to DIY oil metering lines that help greatly

At the time they were posted (10 + years ago) the pre-bent factory lines were still available for older rotaries, not so much the case now. There are some people making generic lines but are not pre-bent to match OEM lines, I decided to pass on those and do my own lines using the info from the 2 posts above.

I ordered the tubing and the crimp clamps from McMaster-Carr which arrived a few days later.

I also had some bailing wire from the local hardware store

Cut the tubing to length, its a good idea to cut it a little long

Cut the bailing wire a few inches longer then the tubing

I dipped the bailing wire in motor oil then slipped it inside the tubing. The oil is to make it easier to pull the wire out after the bending and heating.

Bend to desired form

Use the heat gun (hair dryer or even hot/boiling water would work) to heat up the tubing... keep in mind these heat sources will make the tubing hot to the touch so be mindful of burning yourself

Also dont heat it up so much that it melts the tubing

once satisfied with the temp , dunk it in the cold water and let cool

once cooled you can straighten the assembled tubing/bailing wire and pull the wire out

the tubing should bounce back to the formed shape and your ready for final trimming and install the pinch clamps and banjo fittings

I used some big pliers to crimp my clamps on, but you could you fancy crimping tool.

I mocked mine up on another motor siting around and took about 30-40 minutes for the 2 lines in the pictures and the materials cost about 40-45 bucks and probably enough tubing for 6 or 7 lines. pretty simple

... off to finish the other 2 lines
