13B Weight?

I want to ship a 1986 13B longblock... does anyone know how much this thing weighs? Approx?

Thanks.

325-350lb, dependin on pallet weight.

Are you sure about that Kevin? I know you ship engines alot, but I weighed my S4 N/A shortblock while it was out (all that was on it was waterpump and housing) and it weighed in at 191lbs. I'm not sure of the exact weight of the IMs and TB, but it cant be 100lbs....

Yeah, shortblocks weigh in right at 185-190lb depending on year and model.

Consider, though, that you have a 20-25lb flywheel, sometimes even a clutch assembly, a 20lb exhaust manifold (and or turbo), 20lb of intake manifolds and stuff, 5lb of wiring harness, 15lb of airpump and bracketry, adn you can easily see how you get 325-370 depending on skid weight (anywhere from 20-40lb itself).

Thanks!

I weighed a motor with turbo and manifolds and it came out around 250lbs. Seemed a little light to me, but I can't argue with the scale.

Umm well I could lift my 'short block' 13b w/flywheel, front cover water pump fairly easily, and im not that strong of a person, i'd estimate 100kg for that 'short block' I could also lift my long block 13b with everything except exhaust manifold, for a short period of time, and i can't see it weighing _THAT_ much more(~100-150lb)??!!

But hey I've never actually weighed one personally, i'm just suprised about these results thats all... Or maybe I'd just had a few too many wheatbix that day. ;)

I've lived a 13b-T shortblock (missing front cover but including flywheel) by myself too, but I wouldn't have called it easy! I damn near killed myself getting it from the floor to the back door of my cavilier.. they're small but boy are they heavy...

White_FC, wow, you can lift a long block?! I had a hard enough time lugging around two shortblock 13B's before in my garage. Hah.

Barely, I could lift it off the ground easy enough but then all of a sudden quickly realised it was a BIT too heavy to move anywhere other than hovering 10cm above the ground... hehe.

I probably couldn't do it again now either, I havn't been going to the gym lately ;)

How about the 12a? I lifted one of them... seems heavier, I might have been tired though.
